IoT traffic management and integration in the QoS supported networkBASIM AL-SHAMMARI
This paper proposes: 1) a traffic flow management
policy, which allocates and organizes machine type communication
(MTC) traffic flows network resources sharing within evolved
packet system (EPS); 2) an access element as a wireless sensor
network gateway for providing an overlaying access channel
between the machine type devices and EPS; and 3) it addresses
the effect and interaction in the heterogeneity of applications,
services and terminal devices, and the related quality of service
(QoS) issues among them. This paper overcomes the problems
of network resource starvation by preventing deterioration of
network performance. The scheme is validated through simulation,
which indicates the proposed traffic flow management policy
outperforms the current traffic management policy. Specifically,
simulation results show that the proposed model achieves an
enhancement in QoS performance for the MTC traffic flows,
including a decrease of 99.45% in packet loss rate (PLR), a
decrease of 99.89% in packet end to end (E2E) delay, a decrease
of 99.21% in packet delay variation (PDV). Furthermore, it
retains the perceived quality of experience of the real time application
users within high satisfaction levels, such as the voice
over long term evolution service possessing a mean opinion
score (MOS) of 4.349 and enhancing the QoS of a video conference
service within the standardized values of a 3GPP body,
with a decrease of 85.28% in PLR, a decrease of 85% in packet
E2E delay and a decrease of 88.5% in PDV.

CHARACTERIZATION OF USER-PERCEIVED QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS) IN MOBILE DEVICES...ijwmn
This paper presents a user-centric and application-specific QoS assessment methodology for cellular
communication networks. Specifically, it uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate QoS as a
multi-criteria decision problem that represents how well cellular networks’ data services are perceived
given particular sets of application classes and relative to other networks servicing in the same area. As
part of the methodology, drive testing is performed to collect objective measurements associated with
identified QoS criteria for data services. Once drive testing is performed and data collected, multiple
networks are compared to determine the network that provides higher QoS based on users’ perception of
quality. The selection of the best performing network is based on the output provided by the AHP
approach, which is used as unified measurement of the perceived QoS by users on different networks. In
order to determine application-specific priorities, the approach presented uses three different application
classes, including Emergency, Business, and Personal. For each class, the relative importance of each
quality evaluation criteria is adjusted in the AHP procedure to reflect the priorities of the services
expected. Through several case studies, the approach is proven successful in providing a way for
analyzing user-centric QoS for application-specific scenarios.

BIO-INSPIRED SEAMLESS VERTICAL HANDOVER ALGORITHM FOR VEHICULAR AD HOC NETWORKSijwmn
One of the most important factors to implement VANET is by considering the variety of wireless networks available around the city as well as the vehicles traffic scenarios. However, by providing a diverse range of wireless access technologies, it is necessary to provide continuous network connectivity as well as selecting the most suitable network technology and performance. Many researchers have worked on building algorithms for selecting the best network to improve the handover process. However, with high-speed vehicles mobility, the vertical handover process became the most challenging task in order to achieve realtime network selection. This paper proposes a bio-inspired network selection algorithm influenced by insect's behaviour which combines Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The proposed algorithm is applied to process multi-criteria parameters to evaluate the best available network and then execute the handover process seamlessly. The results demonstrate the benefits of the proposed Multi-Criteria ABC-PSO method by reducing the handover decision delays by 25%. It gives the optimum performance in terms of network selections and reduces the handover latency by 14.5%. The proposed algorithm also reduces the number of unnecessary handovers by 48% for three different mobility scenarios based on traffic environments (highway, urban and traffic jam).

Traffic-aware adaptive server load balancing for softwaredefined networks IJECEIAES
Servers in data center networks handle heterogeneous bulk loads. Load balancing, therefore, plays an important role in optimizing network bandwidth and minimizing response time. A complete knowledge of the current network status is needed to provide a stable load in the network. The process of network status catalog in a traditional network needs additional processing which increases complexity, whereas, in software defined networking, the control plane monitors the overall working of the network continuously. Hence it is decided to propose an efficient load balancing algorithm that adapts SDN. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm TAASLB-traffic-aware adaptive server load balancing to balance the flows to the servers in a data center network. It works based on two parameters, residual bandwidth, and server capacity. It detects the elephant flows and forwards them towards the optimal server where it can be processed quickly. It has been tested with the Mininet simulator and gave considerably better results compared to the existing server load balancing algorithms in the floodlight controller. After experimentation and analysis, it is understood that the method provides comparatively better results than the existing load balancing algorithms.
The impact of channel model on the performance of distance-based schemes in v...IJECEIAES
Distance-based schemes present one of the methods to avoid the broadcast problem in vehicular named data networks. However, such schemes overlook the most factor in performance evaluation which is the variation in received signal strength caused by the propagation model choice. Thus, they are evaluated under one propagation model while neglecting the effect of the others. This paper evaluates the impact of the propagation variation model over three distance-based schemes, namely rapid named data networking (RNDN), enhanced vehicle on named data networking (EVNDN) and opportunistic interest forwarding protocol (OIFP). Simulation experiments are performed over three propagation models. Simulation results show that Nakagami significantly degrades network performance. However, it has a noticeable positive effect over higher distance resulting in a higher interest satisfaction ratio as compared to the other models. The RNDN exhibits a higher number of retransmissions across the Nakagami. In contrast, a higher number of retransmissions is exhibited by EVNDN when compared to the other schemes over the Friis and random. The OIFP show a higher interest satisfaction ratio when compared to EVNDN and RNDN under all models. OIFP shows robustness towards the adverse fading effects resulting from the Nakagami and exhibits lower end to end delays.
Energy-efficient data-aggregation for optimizing quality of service using mo...IJECEIAES
Quality of service (QoS) is essential for carrying out data transmission using resource-constrained sensor nodes in wireless sensor network (WSN). The introduction of mobile agent-based data aggregation is reported to offer energy efficiency; however, it has limitations, especially using a single mobile agent, where QoS optimization is not feasible. A review of existing studies showcases some dedicated attempts to use a mobile agent-based approach and address QoS enhancements. However, they were never combined studied. Therefore, this paper introduces a unique concept of retaining maximum QoS performance during data aggregation using a single mobile agent. The model introduces a unique communication framework, transmission provisioning using exceptional routine management, and simplified energy modeling. The proposed model has aimed for a lower delay and faster data aggregation speed with lower consumption of transmittance energy. The implementation and assessment of the model are carried out considering the challenging environment of WSN with multiple scales of data priority. The proposed model also contributes to evolving out with simplified communication vectors in a highly decentralized method. MATLAB's simulation outcome shows that the proposed system offers better delay performance, optimal energy management, and faster response time than existing schemes.

The Quality of Service (QoS) resource consumption is always the tricky problem and also
the on-going issue in the access network of mobile wireless part because of its dynamic nature of network
wireless transmissions. It is very critical for the infrastructure-less wireless mobile ad hoc network that is
distributed while interconnects in a peer-to-peer manner. Toward resolve the problem, Taguchi method
optimization of mobile ad hoc routing (AODVUU) is applied in integrated optical and wireless networks
called the adLMMHOWAN. Practically, this technique was carry out using OMNeT++ software by building
a simulation based optimization through design of experiment. Its QoS network performance is examined
based on packet delivery ratio (PDR) metric and packet loss probabilities (PLP) metric that consider
the scenario of variation number of nodes. During the performing stage with random mobile connectivity
based on improvement in optimized front-end wireless domain of AODVUU routing, the result is performing
better when compared with previous study called the oRia scheme with the improvement of 14.1% PDR
and 43.3% PLP in this convergence of heterogeneous optical wireless network.

In many situations handover failures and unnecessary handoffs are triggered causing degradation of services, reduction in throughput and increase the blocking probability and packet loss. In this paper a new vertical handoff decision algorithm handover necessity estimation (HNE), is proposed to minimize the number of handover failure and unnecessary handover in heterogeneous wireless networks. we have proposed a multi criteria vertical handoff decision algorithm based on two parts: traveling time estimation and time threshold calculation. Our proposed methods are compared against two other methods: (a) the fixed RSS threshold based method, in which handovers between the cellular network and the WLAN are initiated when the RSS from the WLAN reaches a fixed threshold, and (b) the hysteresis based method, in which a hysteresis is introduced to prevent the ping-pong effect. Simulation results show that, this method reduced the number of handover failures and unnecessary handovers up to 80% and 70%, respectively.

These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effects of mobility on latency in a WSN that accommodates mobile nodes
Abstract:
Several applications have been proposed for mobile wireless sensor networks. Some of these
applications require the transfer of a large amount of data in a short period of time. This is
challenging, since mobility can lead to a deterioration in the quality of an established link.
Frequent link disconnection may in turn require a mobile node to repeatedly establish new
links with the surrounding relay nodes to proceed with the data transfer. The new link
establishment may cause extra data communication latency and make most of the
applications delay sensitive. To evaluate the effect of mobility on latency, this paper first sets
up a mathematical model based on a hybrid medium access control (MAC) protocol in mobile
scenarios. It then uses NS2 simulation to further analyze the latency associated with mobility.
Both results show that the latency increases with an increment in the network density and the
duty cycle.
