This document discusses a health check of the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS). It finds some areas of good information flow but also identifies some concerns. While circulation of information has improved with briefings, plans, and risk tools, only 33% heard alternative strategies even in complex incidents. There are also problems with all agencies using common risk management tools, and a disconnect between the incident management team and fire-ground. The document examines teamwork, interactions, processes, stress levels, and individual profiles. It finds the most difficulties occur for those with less than 5 years experience, a lack of mentoring, women, and volunteers. Problematic blockages are seen at escalated incident levels of ICS
