Alumni
When I say I am Al-Ahliyya Graduate…
Who would expect after having over 17 years of experience, people would still
ask “ which university you graduated from?” and you will be judged over the first
word you say faster than your long CV and great achievements. I am one of the
lucky people who graduated from Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
As a Tawjihi students in the mid of 90s, the vibe of different private universites in
Jordan and outside Jordan was huge, having a wise father who did the search on
which is the best in the area, we ended up choosing Al-Ahliyya Amman Univer-
sity , a choice that changed a lot in my life.
I studied Computer Science, I am lucky that I still have a strong relationship with
my wonderful professors who left a great impact on my life and career. Seeking
the advice from the heads of the university was never a problem, knocking the
door of Dr. Ahmed Hourani was easy and welcomed. Which helped us as
students to understand the difference between a boss and a leader.
After graduating from the university, finding a job was not something to worry
about, if I remember correctly, I graduated in June 1999, received my papers mid
of July, the first day at the job was on the 1st of August 1999.
They say, in a life time, people normally change 3 careers, to select the one that
fits most. Started my first career as a computer programmer at Jordan Kuwait
Bank for couple of years, which was a great experience, but did not give me the
edge I was looking for, shifted my career to Education, which started from a
teacher to Education Consultant within 12 years. Started as a computer science
teacher to Head of department, head of international systems, middle school
principal to high school principle, vice principle, school principal to Education
Consultant, that was between Jordan, UAE, Qatar and KSA. I also worked as IBO
Examiner for ITGS Subject and Education Consultant and Inspector with AbuD-
habi Education Council (ADEC). in 2009 I wrote 4 books and co-wrote 2 more,
these books are taught in different schools in Jordan as will as in the Gulf area.
After I had my 3rd career in business, I worked as Director of business develop-
ment and marketing for an IT software company for 2 years. This is when it hit
me that I belong into education more than anything else. I never stopped that
career and worked as freelance consultant with ADEC and some other schools.
Recently I joined AL-Jamia’a Schools, as their Academic Consultant. Back to the
base, where my love of Education started.
Until that moment, moving from one country to another, and meeting many
people, having Al-Ahliyya Amman University as an added value to my achieve-
ments.
When I say I am Al-Ahliyya Amman Graduate, my head is high with pride .
