1. Identify, research , and collect data on an environmental issue using digital resources and propose a developmentally appropriate solution (1,3,4)I could provide the students with a PowerPoint presentation which would consist of what recycling is, and ways to recycle. I would then bring in different recycling bins into the classroom, teaching them how to recycle plastic, glass, and even computer parts.
2. Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through e-mail and other electronic means (2,6) I think a great way to approach this, would be to collaborately work with other students, from a different school, who are of a different culture.
I could find another teacher from a different school, in a different country, to be the classes “pen pal”.
As a class, the students would write back and forth, learning certain aspects about another culture.3. In a collaborative work group, use a variety of technologies to produce a digital presentation or product in a curriculum area (1,2,6) Using a digital camera, as a class, I could take the students around outside and take pictures of different plants.
We could then work on a PowerPoint presentation together as a class, and our curriculum area will be focused on science.
