This document provides four examples of how technology can be integrated into PK-2 grade classrooms to meet educational standards: 1) Students would learn about recycling through a PowerPoint presentation and hands-on experience sorting recyclables. 2) Students would collaborate with a class in another country by exchanging emails to learn about different cultures. 3) As a class, students would take photos of plants, create a PowerPoint presentation about plants, and learn technology skills. 4) Students would research life cycles of plants and animals online and create charts and graphs to depict patterns of growth.

Identify, research , and collect data on an environmental issue using digital resources and propose a developmentally appropriate solution (1,3,4)I could provide the students with a PowerPoint presentation which would consist of what recycling is, and ways to recycle. I would then bring in different recycling bins into the classroom, teaching them how to recycle plastic, glass, and even computer parts.

3. 2. Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through e-mail and other electronic means (2,6) I think a great way to approach this, would be to collaborately work with other students, from a different school, who are of a different culture.

4. I could find another teacher from a different school, in a different country, to be the classes “pen pal”.

5. As a class, the students would write back and forth, learning certain aspects about another culture.3. In a collaborative work group, use a variety of technologies to produce a digital presentation or product in a curriculum area (1,2,6) Using a digital camera, as a class, I could take the students around outside and take pictures of different plants.

6. We could then work on a PowerPoint presentation together as a class, and our curriculum area will be focused on science.
