The 21st-century skills needed to face the speed of understanding technology. Such as critical thinking in computer vision and robotics literacy, any student is hampered by the programming that is considered complicated. This study aims at the improvement of student embedded system programming competency with computer vision and mobile robotics integration approach. This method is proposed to attract the students to learn about embedded system programming by delivering integration between computer vision and robotics using the P-D controller since both of the fields are closely related. In this paper, the researcher described computer vision programming to get the data of captured images through the camera stream and then delivered the data into an embedded system to make the decision of robot movement. The output of this study is the improvement of a student’s ability to make an application to integrate a sensor system using a camera and the mobile robot running follow the line. The result of the test shows that the integration method between computer vision and robotics can improve the student’s programming comprehension by 40%. Based on the Feasibility test survey, it can be interpreted that from the whole assessment after being converted to qualitative data, all aspects of the learning stages of programming application tested with the integration of computer vision and robotics fall into the very feasible category for used with a percentage of feasibility by 77.44%.

Robotics education is gaining popularity among school children in line with the government desire to promote creative thinking in students through STEM based activities. However, the robots for educational games are usually made up of components and its description is usually one-way and static. Additionally, students find it difficult to visualize distances from robot movements when playing educational robotic games. Augmented reality (AR) technology is a viable tool to connect between in-context information and physical activities. The objective of this research is to design and develop an AR based application that can visualize the distance between two robots for supporting learning process in a game-based module. The application consists of three parts; the first part use AR in identification of components related to robots, while the second part involves the addition of real-time visualization in the form of AR, enabling students to learn the distance from the robot's movements. The third part used AR in providing the description of the robotic games through videos. The development of the application is based on the Agile model. The results show that the application has received positive feedbacks from students as it can increase their interest in playing robotic educational games.

The initiative will provide specialized courses to students in 30 tier two and tier
three colleges across 12 states
Banglaore-based PurpleLeap, an entry-level talent management company
which is part of the Pearson-Educomp Group, has tied-up with Singapore-based
robotics education specialists, Robhatah to provide robotics education to in tier
2 and tier 3 engineering colleges in India. During the first year of this initiative,
1500 students in 30 colleges across 12 states in the country will be trained in
the highly specialized courses. The plan is to set up Robotics Centres of
Excellence – high tech labs that include robotic kits – in each of these colleges.
“Just as how computing technology has touched every aspect of our lives today,
robotics will play a huge role in making our lives easier tomorrow. We see this
as a significant area of job growth and development in the decades ahead,” said
Amit Bansal, chief executive officer of PurpleLeap. Worldwide, robotics, a $
100 billion industry with an annual growth rate of over 40 per cent, is being
increasingly recognized as an innovation enabler. It has consistently
demonstrated its importance in a wide variety of applications in diverse fields
such as healthcare, education, agriculture, transport, manufacturing, national
defense and security.
“We are happy to announce our partnership with PurpleLeap in India. Given its
well-connected network, our education will enhance the career prospects of
many students in the country,” said Janesh Janardhanan, chief executive officer
and Co-founder, Robhatah.
The programmes offered under this partnership are split into two levels - basic
and expert. Robologics is the basic level, spanning 40 hours and can be
completed in one semester. It introduces students to different engineering
concepts like micro-controllers, electrical circuits, sensors, motors, gears and
embedded programming. At the end of the course, a student will know the
techniques to design, build and control a robot.
Roboxpert, which follows this, is a specialisation course of over two semesters,
totaling 80 hours. The course details the concepts of communication and
control in the field of robotics application. Its content includes wireless
communication concepts using Zigbee protocol, PID controller and vision-
based control of mobile robots.
