Edith Piaf was a famous French singer who had a difficult childhood, growing up in her grandmother's brothel and performing on the streets with her father. She was discovered for her singing talent in her early 20s and went on to record many popular and famous songs during her career, such as "La Vie en Rose." Piaf had many romantic relationships but never married. She struggled with addiction to morphine later in life following the death of her lover in a plane crash and passed away in 1963 from cirrhosis of the liver.
