4. Purpose This presentation is developed as the outline of a Learning Unit in an online course. The purpose is to guide an online student through his or her study of DNA-directed protein synthesis using the textbook, videos, a web quest, and work sheets developed by the instructor. The daily assignments should cover the majority of the material the student is expected to understand and serve as a basis for each students notes on the section. I think if I were truly teaching this in an online course, I would make each PowerPoint equal to a Chapter in the textbook, rather than just one section that would probably equal one 50 minute class session, as this particular presentation is arranged.
