Learning through play
Water play is one of the most relaxing and rewarding activities a child can experience. Water play also helps
in other areas of a child's development. Water play is also a very important sensory play feature.
Our popular fresh water pump
runs direct from the mains water
supply and provides great
potential for natural learning and
imagination.
Many other water play options are also
available. Please contact our sales team
for more information.
Children have the opportunity to learn and understand the
following :.
 Volume and the concepts of full, empty, shallow and
deep.
 Weight and the terms heavy and light.
 Buoyancy and the terms float, sink and submerge.
 Cleaning and the states of clean and dirty, dry and wet
and the concept of evaporation.
Water play
Bringing the beach to your nursery garden. Sand provides hours of fun and promotes and encourages
imaginative play!
Sand is an amazing sensory
experience for children to explore
their sense of touch. They are
able to play and discover the
wonderful texture of sand!
Children love....
• digging holes
• digging tunnels
• making sand castles
• burying objects
• hiding their feet!
Sand play
This marvellous outdoor play kitchen will provide children with hours of messy and imaginative play
time fun . Mud provides a fantastic sensory experience. Mud comes in many forms and provides
endless options for experimentation and discovery.
"Mud, mud, glorious mud“
Understanding the
importance of our
physical world is an
essential part of a child's
development.
Mud play

Activity trails are the perfect way to get children outdoors and encourage physical development and
coordination in an exciting, varied and challenging environment.
Bridge Triple balance beam and traverse wall
Stepping logs Single balance beam Mini picket gate
Stile and crawl through tyre
Our trails are
individually tailored to
suit your requirements
and provide an
adventurous challenge
to all.
Activity trails
From smooth surfacing to wood decking, bricks or cobbles .... we can design wonderful pathways , roads and
tracks to enhance your garden area. Children will have great fun riding their trikes and bikes around and will
learn to develop safety and social skills in addition to the physical benefits .
Block paved and
wet pour road tracks
- favourite path
surfaces in our
garden projects.
Rustic block paved pathway
Textured/reclaimed paving
Paths, roads and tracks
Mounds to tumble down and tunnels to crawl through... young children love crawling through tunnels .
Tunnels and mounds provide wonderful opportunities for creative play whilst enhancing your play area
and providing natural looking hills.
There are so many great skills in addition to crawling that your child can learn
from a play tunnel. Play tunnels are a great confidence builder......
.....and one of the
best learning tools
you could ever
choose.
Tunnels and mounds
Den areas
A living willow den or tunnel can form a lovely leafy hideaway and shady play area for your children.
Our simple but effective den making zone comprises of machine round pressure treated timber poles which are
concreted into the ground at varying heights. In addition we provide a robust camouflage net which can be draped
over the poles to create a real hide away den.
Children will have hours of outdoor fun in our timber log cabin playhouses. They are ideal for creative
play and will keep little ones entertained whilst encouraging imagination during playtime.
Is it a house?....
Is it a shop or restaurant? .....
Provide children with a fantastic environment in which they
are able to play and learn.
Role play cabins and play houses
Let’s play builders!
Children love having their very own realistic building site. We build our construction zones using real bricks
or blocks and top them off with smooth cement capping. A timber frame with orange safety mesh helps to
create that work in progress look.
Work as part of a group,
taking turns and co-
operating.
Interact with others,
negotiating and discussing
plans.
Construction zone
Constructed from machine round poles with rustic roofing boards, our gazebos are natural looking and
hugely functional. Make full use of available outdoor space and provide a great environment for
learning and teaching.
With a number of varieties available, our gazebos create a very useful and attractive sheltered area in the
Garden.
Gazebos
Celebrate the Great Outdoors at Story time!
The outdoor environment is a rich and natural space for learning and development . We can design
wonderful story time areas to suit your requirements.
Wooden mushroom seats are placed around a
story tellers chair, creating a cosy area for reading
and learning.
Why not add character to your story time area
with a wonderful storytellers chair. It creates the
perfect finishing touch to an enchanting story time
area.
Story time areas
Our polycarbonate greenhouse is a safe way of helping children learn about growing. The greenhouse
is normally designed to go onto a solid level existing surface and securely fixed down accordingly. We
also put down sleeper planters to create an area for the children to grow a wide variety of plants and
learn about growing edible plants such as herbs and vegetables.
Growing areas
We carefully select from our safe sensory plant list
to create the perfect sensory area.
Children learn about the world through their senses: touch, sight, sound, taste and smell.
Creating safe, diverse and developmentally appropriate outdoor leaning environments can offer
benefits across curriculum and developmental areas.
Children learn about their relationship with
the natural world around them.
Sensory gardens
Children will love using our mirrors for role playing activities, spying on friends or simply pulling funny faces!
Why not brighten up your outdoor play areas by installing a collection of mirrors , art boards and
chalkboards solidly constructed from sustainable materials. Children will have hours of outdoor artistic
and creative fun.
Blackboards, art boards and mirrors
Using all natural materials, these safe havens for interesting bugs and creepy crawlies create a fun
way of learning more about nature.
What’s more exciting or compelling to children than
minibeasts?
Encourages children to:
• Treat animals in the environment
with care and sensitivity.
• Observe and recognise some
simple characteristics of
minibeasts and other living things.
• Work together as part of a group
or in pairs, taking turns and
sharing fairly.
• Develop curiosity and interest by
exploring their surroundings using
their senses.
Minibeast areas
Naturestep is a natural looking, practical
surface created from recycled rubber mulch
which is mixed with a resin binder and wet
poured onto a prepared sub base.
Lawn deluxe is our luxurious 36mm pile
natural look artificial grass with the ‘c’
shaped yarn. This product has been widely
used throughout children’s play areas and
has proved its hard wearing qualities. We
believe this is the nearest thing to natural
grass on the market.
Softstep is one of the most practical
playground surfaces and is available in a
variety of colours...
This product is created using EPDM
rubber granules and mixed with a resin
binder then wet-poured onto a prepared
sub base and levelled to a smooth finish.

I just wanted to let you know how delighted
the children and parents are with the new
garden here in Cardiff – we have had a lot of
very positive comments from parents and the
children love the water pump and sand pit
especially!
I also wanted to thank Dave, Mike and Perry
for their hard work last week – they were
fantastic! We have over the years had a lot of
different contractors working with the
nursery but we have never had a group as
accommodating as yours.
Nothing was too much trouble for them
considering the amount they had to do in a
short time, they were still happy for the
children to see the digger they were using and
talk to the children about what they were
doing in the garden. They were courteous and
professional at all times and became part of
the team for the time they were with us.
I just wanted to give some positive feedback
to you about them and please pass on our
thanks to them as well.
Regards
Nichola Martin
Nursery manager
Cardiff
