1) The document discusses how sovereignty belongs to God alone and how we must rely on God to provide the "missing pieces" or miracles when our own efforts fall short.
2) It uses the examples of Jesus' crucifixion, burial, and resurrection as the ultimate demonstrations of God's sovereignty and miracles.
3) The resurrection is described as a miracle that secured victory over death and enemies for believers.

Momentum is a physical force that occurs when we multiply mass and velocity, or more simply put, size times speed. However, we experience momentum in other areas of our life, including our spiritual lives. Momentum has been described as a series of small wins that pave the way for even bigger victories. But in order to gain momentum, we have to overcome two large forces, inertia and resistance. Momentum is hard to build, challenging to maintain and in need of careful guidance. That being said, momentum is a "game changer". This first week we will look at one of the greatest examples of the rapid building of momentum... the first century church which was launched at Pentecost and quickly went viral.

5th is a series on Nehemiah's prayers.
Nehemiah had a crisis brewing in the workers' camp. People were in need. He challenged the "common business practices" of his day and reinstituted charity and compassion ministries. He led with generosity and prayed to God to take notice and bless his giving.
The introduction sermon for the Christmas Go Deeper Series at TaB 2013
In order to get the maximum spiritual growth potential out of the Christmas season, we have to contemplate the incarnation and the nativity.
This is the final piece of the series. It is on cessationism and specifically why we hold it to be true. What does this term mean, what does it not mean, and why can we defend that position Biblically. We do not love controversy, we love seeking truth.
The gifts of the Spirit are for mutual encouragement and blessing of others. They are, in short, for the purpose of ministry not self-promotion. God gives good gifts to His children!
Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ithaca NY
The Holy Spirit comes to live inside every believer at salvation. We have the Spirit on-board. That regular and continuous presence makes a difference in the way that we conduct ourselves. We are created and re-created to worship God with our bodies.
Tabernacle Baptist Church, Spirit sermon series
The Holy Spirit marks a believer permanently as one of His by baptism and sealing. We are identified with Him and owned by Him.
Tabernacle Baptist Church, Holy Spirit series
Part of the Spirit's work is to regenerate believers. New life comes through faith, repentance and the work of the Spirit. Something essentially different has come to be by the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit.

The start of the Judges sermon series entitled "epic!".
The cycle of sin and rebellion followed by God's rescue and restoration is introduced. The challenge is to learn from history... Israel's history mirrors our own!!
Judges 1:1-3:6
Another great prayer message from the book of Nehemiah. this prayer is actually Ezra's, but it's also recorded in Nehemiah. It is a blessing (thanksgiving) to God.
Old Testament, Prayer
3rd in a series on Nehemiah's prayers
Nehemiah is being attacked by Sandballat and Tobias. The wall project must go on! But the need is great! Pray for protection! Imprecatory prayers are Biblical.
This is the third in the series on spiritual thirst. Sometimes spiritual thirst comes from our restless searching for another answer. We have weak faith and end up looking everywhere else but to God.
This is the second in the series on spiritual thirst. Thirst is sometimes driven by separation from God by our own sins!! We are the cause of our own demise!

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. Introduction
• Sovereignty is the truth that God is in charge
of the universe and its inhabitants
• We often attempt to usurp that position
– Our feeble attempts at sovereignty always fall
short. We are not omni-anything.
– We must rely on God to supply the final pieces if
we are to have success.
4. A Bitter End
The Crucifixion, Carl Heinrich Bloch The Burial of Christ, Carl Heinrich Bloch
7. A Victorious End
Score!
“For He must reign
until He has put all
his enemies under His
feet. The last enemy
to be destroyed is
death.” 1 Cor 15:25-26
The Resurrection, Carl Heinrich Bloch
8. The Missing Piece
• A miracle is a demonstration of God’s
sovereignty over “normal” conditions
– When things happen that you couldn’t possibly
control
– When you see connections, understand things
that you never understood before
– When your faith is established or strengthened
• A miracle is a “God thing” and must be
credited to Him
10. The Missing Piece
“Forgiveness is the answer to the child's
dream of a miracle by which
what is broken is made whole again,
what is soiled is made clean again.”
Dag Hammarskjold
11. A Victorious End
Score!
“But thanks be to
God, who gives us the
victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Cor 15:57
The Resurrection, Carl Heinrich Bloch
13. Easter Pieces
• Trace God’s miracles in the past
• Believe that God is still actively performing
miracles
• Having done all that you can, pray for a
miracle and wait
• Celebrate God’s miraculous work in your life
• Watch for ways that this miracle feeds the
