This document discusses a project to gamify healthcare by developing a videogame based on World of Warcraft to help people manage diabetes. The team working on the WoW Diabetes Project includes a doctor, video game professor, programmer, and nurse educator. By tapping into the large existing player base of World of Warcraft, which is majority male and aged 16-30, the project aims to educate over 300 million potential players worldwide on diabetes prevention and care in a fun, engaging format.
