Humana has been on the leading edge of technology in the healthcare industry for some time now, particularly with the creation of their Digital Experience Center which features Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and with the maturation of their IT Command Center which features the breadth of Dynatrace’s product line. In this session we will learn a number of things, starting with why Humana chose PCF as a key platform to power their digital transformation from legacy software development practices towards modern software engineering. The acceleration of this culture change and new methodology exposed gaps in existing monitoring practices and tools, and we'll learn how Dynatrace via the Full-stack Add-on for Pivotal Cloud Foundry was able to fill those gaps. With unique visibility into the entire environment from the user experience to the underlying VMs and everything in-between, Dynatrace provided an intuitive view which simplified problem determination in the and transformed how Humana manages service availability for its customers. Finally we'll learn about Humana's strategy for the future with public cloud deployment, continuous monitoring with DevOps, and monitoring tool consolidation on the horizon.

SAP Cloud Platform is using Dynatrace Managed for internal monitoring of its infrastructure, services and SAP’s own applications all across the world. The multi-IaaS strategy of SAP Cloud Platform brings it beyond SAP’s own data-centers to multiple IaaS providers. SAP’s high standards in terms of governance and data privacy demand that monitoring data sits side-by-side with the systems it is collected from, which means that there are Dynatrace Managed clusters beside most SAP Cloud Platform Landscapes. These Dynatrace clusters are installed, updated and managed the same way as all other components of SAP Cloud Platform. This includes validation pipelines that distinguish between development, testing, pre-production and production landscapes. Join us to gain insight on how to automatically deploy and operate Dynatrace clusters at scale reducing the amount of manual labor and focusing on the unique insights that Digital Performance Management delivers.

Pay pal paypal continuous performance as a self-service with fully-automated...Dynatrace
PayPal's ongoing leadership as an industry innovator requires faster development cycles and increased adoption of continuous testing practices. For special efforts, the development teams needed more frequent feedback about application performance, scalability limitations and variances between builds. Accelerating the frequency of performance simulations would help increase the rate of innovation and improve the quality of code delivered to production.
In this session we'll review some the automation techniques that helped PayPal Credit increase testing feedback from a monthly effort to a nearly-continuous daily activity. We'll spend time looking at the benefits of a fully-automated, actionable performance feedback loop that delivers performance feedback to developers in hours rather than weeks or months. Additionally, we will take a closer look at how these changes impacted the culture of development and operations, improving both the quality of critical thinking about performance and the value delivered back to the business.
This "Secret Sauce" session will include conceptual learnings and hands-on demonstration:
- What a continuous performance environment looks like and the benefits it brings to your DevOps team
- How to create a parallel pipeline for on-demand performance feedback using JIRA, Rundeck, JMeter and Dynatrace
- Where and how to leverage performance feedback to optimize flow
- How to get engineers on-board and excited about building better performant code

Intuit shifting left by continuous performance testing in intuitDynatrace
Gone are the times where developers had to wait for performance engineers to write load tests, execute them and provide feedback at the end of the development cycle. With the findings from PERFORM 2017, Sumit and team went ahead and transformed the way performance feedback is delivered to developers at Intuit. Intuits CI/CD pipeline leverages CloudBees (Enterprise Jenkins), Gatling and Dynatrace. Relevant performance metrics are automatically archived as build artifacts allowing everyone to make valuable informed decisions on whether to stop or keep the pipeline flowing. In this session, Sumit will advise how embedding performance in the CI/CD pipeline transformed their engineering culture. Fast performance feedback on new features has significantly increased their overall quality including throughput to their development teams. While Intuit is leveraging AppMon in their CI/CD pipeline, Sumit will also show how Continuous Performance Feedback can be implemented with Dynatrace.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
