This document discusses the importance of language and passing knowledge between generations. It argues that some people, like animals, fail to learn language and do not take the effort to understand or teach their offspring. As a result, each generation must rediscover knowledge and does not progress. In contrast, the development of human language allowed early humans to record and transfer their findings, expanding knowledge over time and enabling humanity to advance while other species remain limited by not sharing discoveries across generations. The power of written language to record and recall thoughts is what has given humans mastery over other creatures.
