This document describes a project to fabricate a dual ram shaper to reduce lead time and increase material removal rate compared to a normal shaper. A normal shaper uses a single ram, whereas the dual ram shaper uses two rams operated by a single motor, with one ram moving forward and the other moving backward simultaneously. This allows for continuous operation and load on the motor. The dual ram shaper has advantages of being suitable for mass production, minimizing lead time, and having easy tool changing. Its disadvantage is that it is only suitable for heavy duty operations when the job width is more.
