13. Tuition Cost SavingsThe CBC Dual Credit Program offers substantial cost savings vs. classes taken after high school graduation at a community college or a 4-year institution. WHAT IS DUAL CREDIT?*Out-of-District CBC Tuition (with Registration fee) used for comparison purposes – does not include other fees, such as course fees. TAMUK used as example of 4-year Institution.

14. To be eligible for Dual Credit Courses, the student must: Be a currently attending high school student (public, private, or home-schooled) classified as a junior or senior (exemptions may be granted to sophomores or freshmen for demonstrated outstanding academic performance).

15. Prior to registration, show qualifying college placement scores on the THEA, ASSET, or ACCUPLACER; or earn exemption with SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores. (Workforce courses do not require college placement scores)

16. Supply an official high school transcript to CBC registrar.

17. Present the completed CBC Dual Credit Permission Form with the signature approval from the high school principal, counselor, and parent/guardian.

19. Other expectationsCollege tuition and fees must be paid each semester by the student, unless the high school has made other arrangements.

20. An installment payment plan is available, however financial aid is limited to those who have graduated high school or have a GED.

21. The course outline/syllabus will be that of the college.

22. Textbooks used must be college level and approved by the college. The student will be responsible for the purchase of textbooks and other supplies, unless the high school has made other arrangements.

23. Students will be limited to a maximum of two college courses per semester, unless granted permission prior to registration by the high school principal and either the CBC Director of Academic Programs or the CBC Director of Workforce Programs.

24. Students will be responsible for following all rules of CBC and their respective high school.

25. Students enrolled in Dual Credit courses are taking college level courses and will be treated accordingly. Students are protected by the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Eligibility Requirements
