Was the father of Guy Verhofstadt on the wrong side of history?Thierry Debels
According to the Flemish periodical ’t Pallieterke , Marcel Verhofstadt was actively searched after the Second World War. Marcel Verhofstadt is the father of Guy Verhofstadt according to ’t Pallieterke. Marcel Verhofstadt was searched because he was present at a ‘fusion meeting’ of Rex, Verdinaso and VNV. Those parties collaborated in a more or lesser degree with the nazis of Hitler. According to ’t Pallieterke, the father of Guy Verhofstadt could later work as a lawyer for a trade union.
New York in the Forties
The third slide lecture covers the establishment of New York city as the new artistic capital of the world after WWII. We look at some of the existing art movements such as the Ashcan School and the Harlem Renaissance, as well as the proliferation of cultural institutions such as the Art Students' League and Peggy Guggenheim's Art of This Century gallery. With easy access to European Modernists escaping the war, some of the biggest names in American art are beginning to formulate their ideas and find their artistic voice.

Diz-me o que tens, dir-te-ei de onde vem. A proveniência nos museus portuguesesInes Fialho Brandao, FRSA
Presentation to the Museum Studies seminar at the University of Porto. Introducing the issue of provenance-research within the context of museum ethics. Focus is on the need to engage in Nazi-era provenance in Portugal and establish the reliability of ALIU/OSS sources, indicating a healthy art market during WWII and post-1945.
A lecture highlighting chronological elements of World War II. I say at the beginning of the lecture I won't go through the European elements of the war, then I did exactly that! :-) Unfortunately, I used the classroom maps, so it might be good to watch this with access to a good map of the war (for example, at http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-maps/world-war-ii-map-of-europe.html)
This presentation is created by grade 7 student as part of a Social Studies course of Kru Tuke-Karnteera Ingkhaninan the English Program of Sa-nguan Ying School, Suphan Buri, Thailand.
