Dropping out of school refers to leaving high school, college,
university or another group for practical reasons, necessities,
inability, apathy, or disillusionment with the system from which the
individual in question leaves.
DEFINITION OF DROPPING OUT OF SCHOOL
 Parents don’t have enough money to pay for their children's education .
 some students have family problems. As a result, they quit school at an early age.
 In many rural areas, schools are very far.
 There is not enough means of transport.
 Some students are not aware of the importance of education
 parents‘ illiteracy and ignorance
 Drug addiction, smoking and peer pressure
CAUSES
Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, revealed that
the total number of those who dropped out of school for the 2021-2022 academic season reached a
total of 334,664, i.e. the same level as the 2019-2020 academic season, where the number of those
who dropped out was around 331,558.
The number of students who dropped out for the 2021-2022 academic year is distributed according
to educational streams: approximately 76,233 in primary education, 183,893 in preparatory
secondary education, and 74,538 in qualifying secondary education. The preparatory secondary
stream represented the largest share, about 55 percent.
SCHOOL DROPOUT STATICS
 Organization of awareness campaigns for parents about the importance of learning.
 We should encourage students all over the country to complete their education and motivate
drop outs to get back to schools.
 The government should help poor families financially.
 Improved Infrastructure and Resources: Allocate resources for the construction and
maintenance of schools, including classrooms, libraries, and provide free school transport in
remote villages, to create an environment suitable for learning.
 Girl's Education and Gender Equality: Promote initiatives that specifically target barriers to
education for girls, including providing safe transportation.
SOLUTIONS
Finally, we can say that the number of dropout
students is increasing. Therefore, we must make
all of our efforts to find out urgent solutions to
reduce this terrible number and help these
dropouts come back their schools and carry on
their schooling as soon as possible.
