3. The term demonetization has become a
household name since the government pulled
the old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes out of
circulation. While as per dictionary
demonetization means "ending something (e.g.
gold or silver) that is no longer the legal tender
of a country", one needs to see if there is
anything more to the word.
4.
5. It is the combination of two words DE and MONETIZATION .
Monetization means increase the flow of cash in the economy .
But Demonetization means ban of currency in the economy
Demonetization is a monetary step in which a currency units ‘ s
status as a legal tender is declared invalid
According to Investopedia :
‘Demonetization is the act of stripping a currency unit of
its status as legal tender .
6. Notes of R/s 1000 reintroduced in India.
Notes of R/s.5000 reintroduced India .
Notes of R/s 10000 reintroduced in India.
7. First Currency Ban:
In 1946 the currency notes of Rs. 1000 and 10,000 were
removed.
Both the notes were reintroduced in 1954 with on additional
introduction of Rs. 5000 currency
Second Currency Ban:
In 1978, the Prime minister of India Morarji Desai announced the currency ban
taking Rs. 1000,500,1000 are demonetized from the economy
Aim: To curb black money generation in the country
8. Third Currency Ban :
The P.M Narendra Modi on November 8, 2016 announced the
currencies in the Demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000
will be invalid.
The lower demonetizations – 10, 20, 50, 100 and coins will be
valid.
Then the new notes of 500 and 2000 were introduced
9. Though old Rs. 500 notes were accepted in places such
as petrol pumps, government hospitals, airports, and for
paying government related utility dues
Finance ministry will be stopping this arrangement from
Friday (2 December) midnight.
The RBI on November 28, 2016 said that if deposits had
been made in legal tender , then depositors could

17. Many peoples shocked about this news when P.M announced
R/s 500 and 2000 notes are banned and legally invalid . Some
of are died and all are depressed because their savings in their
banks accounts are properly useless and exchange into limited
time way .
18. When Demonetizations announced by P.M modi it’s very bad effect on n
the rural economy why ? Because many of the villages have without banks
. The villagers are suffered from this situation. And many of the farmers and
small traders have dependent on the financial advisors deposits his high
interest rates, given that bank branches are located far from the village,
while the process to obtain loans is long and cumbersome.
19. The liquidity squeeze caused by demonetization will be negative
across sectors with high level of cash transactions. Real estate ,
retailing, restaurants, logistics, consumer durables and luxury
brands, cements and some segments in retail/SME lending space
will be facing short term instability
20. The Finance Ministry instructed all revenue
intelligence agencies to join the crackdown on
forex traders, hawala operators and jewelers
besides tracking movement of demonetized
currency notes.
Income Tax departments raided various illegal
tax-evasive businesses in Delhi, Mumbai,
Chandigarh, Ludhiana and other cities that
traded with demonetized currency.
21. According to my views,
Demonetizations have many positive effects but also some
bad effects because of the following points :
When P.M Narender Modi declared that R/s 1000 and R/s 500 should banned many
of people are shocked and many of them are die because of this news .
In my thinking many peoples faced some difficulties and problems such as poor and
needy peoples because of demonetization . The government thinks also these types
of peoples and take corrective actions or steps because they also a major part of the
Indian economy .
22. The conclusion is that, the bad effects would be
only short term and the country will regain its
growth momentum in one or two years time,
depending mainly over government 's future
course of actions.
