It is my pleasure and a matter of pride to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of
ANDREA V HOLMAN who is keen to pursue her higher studies under the Faculty of Law.
I have had the privilege to know Andrea as a student in my class on Philosophy – Gandhi and
Peacemaking during the Fall Semester 2013 at Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, VA where I
served as a Fulbright – Nehru Visiting Lecturer Fellow.
What particularly struck me about Andrea was her exemplary commitment towards her
work and a dedicated passion to achieve and excel in whatever she chose to do. I noticed
that she never gave herself any other option but to excel - to do her best and achieve her
goal.
It was after one of her outstanding presentations on “Approaches to Peace” during my class
in Mary Baldwin, that Andrea and I became friends, in addition to a relationship of a
professor-student. We spoke with each other at length about the vicissitudes of life and life
experiences that make a person what he or she is. It is only then that I understood the
mettle that Andrea is made of, having been a witness and victim of one of the worst
conflict-ridden times of the 20th
Century in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Andrea’s exceptional ability to articulate her thoughts and viewpoints convincingly,
supported by deep research, her grit and determination, perseverance, integrity and
strength of character will take her to the greatest heights in her chosen career.
With a degree in Law, Andrea V Holman will not only do herself, her family, her institution
and her country proud, but also will be an asset to the legal profession and will be among
the leading legal luminaries of the World.
I wish her all success and wish to see her reach her chosen goal.
