PROJECT
Leaded the team of health workers in ‘PULSE POLIO ERADICATION PROGRAM’
door to door project by providing polio vaccine to all under 5 yr children at their doorstep
even in below poverty line areas.We converted many unwilling resistant cases to the ones
recieving timely vaccination.Under this project I also researched upon the reasons as to why
people have inhibitions towards a thing as innocuous as a ‘polio vaccine’ and I also acquired
the understanding of the set of beliefs and socioeconomic factors which keep them from
making their children the beneficiaries of programs like these.The entire work of this project
was carried out purely at GRASS ROOT level and we also provided FREE MEDICINES
for various ailments to their families.As a result of an extremly dedicated effort of my team
and many more like us around the country we were able to earn the certification of ‘POLIO
NON ENDEMIC’ country for INDIA from W.H.O.This project had been a great success.
