Immigrants are often believed to take jobs from native-born workers and lower their wages, but research shows that in the long run immigrants do not reduce employment among natives and instead stimulate job creation. Immigrants increase demand, spur new business openings, and ease upward mobility for native workers by filling jobs natives do not want, which creates more jobs overall for both immigrant and native workers.
