The document discusses transforming a business with big data by focusing on mindset. It introduces the concept of a "V9 model" that defines nine aspects of big data: viewpoint, volume, variety, velocity, veracity, validity, visuality, volatility and value. It advocates having the right managerial mindset to fully leverage new technologies like big data, and creating mutual value for customers and businesses through a focus on strategy and interaction over just technology. An important message is that adopting big data requires not just new technologies but transforming existing mindsets within an organization.

Telecommunications companies have an abundance of subscriber activity data at their fingertips, which can be highly valuable to third-party organizations when it comes to location-based decision making. But how can telcos properly enrich this data with the context needed in order to successfully turn that data into a revenue stream for their business?

Carousel30: Big data for digital marketersCarousel30
Carousel30's white paper that explains the most relevant aspects of big data for digital marketers.
It’s hard to read a blog, pick up a magazine, or have a conversation about business these days without the term “Big Data” coming up in some form or another. What it is exactly and how it relates to you as a digital marketer can be harder to determine. The purpose of this white paper is to talk about Big Data in terms that relate to marketing and advertising, and more specifically that relate to the digital marketer. There is much more information (or data, if you will) on this subject than this white paper allows, but the objective is to encourage further research and discovery on the areas of the subject that are most relevant to you and your current challenges within your organization or company.
Many of the references cited within this white paper provide deeper insights into specific aspects and we recommend reading them in their entirety, especially when they refer to areas of interest to you. We hope that this provides a good introduction to Big Data and is the beginning of a new step in the sophistication of your digital marketing and advertising efforts.

Why Is Data Literacy Important For Any Business?Bernard Marr
The more data literate your organisation is, the better your results will be. In my work with companies all over the world, I see it every day that organisations that fail to boost data literacy of their employees will be left behind because they are not be able to fully use the vital business resource of data to their business advantage. In this post, I explore what data literacy is, why it's crucial for every business and ways to promote data literacy.
Since 2005, when the term “Big Data” was launched, Big Data has become an increasingly topical theme. In terms of technological development and business adoption, the domain of Big Data has made powerful advances; and that is putting it mildly.
In this initial report on Big Data, the first of four, we give answers to questions concerning what exactly Big Data is, where it differs from existing data classification, how the transformative potential of Big Data can be estimated, and what the current situation (2012) is with regard to adoption and planning.
VINT attempts to create clarity in these developments by presenting experiences and visions in perspective: objectively and laced with examples. But not all answers, not by a long way, are readily available. Indeed, more questions will arise – about the roadmap, for example, that you wish to use for Big Data. Or about governance. Or about the way you may have to revamp your organization. About the privacy issues that Big Data raises, such as those involving social analytics. And about the structures that new algorithms and systems will probably bring us.

More than ever, marketing has become reliant on data. With the advent of the internet and digital media in the last 20 years, we are now awashed with data from different sources as well as ever increasing volume. Digital is not just advertising media; it has become part of business. Data-driven marketing is becoming the norm, but making sense of the data requires new technologies like AI. Joe will explore this rise of data science and how it may affect businesses.
Unlocking Value of Data in a Digital AgeRuud Brink
InfoGraphic about Intelligence Hubs as accelerator of the Digital organisation. Five steps how you could think big, and act small to unlock value of Data in your organisation. Contact me for the office A0 poster.
Data volumes have experienced explosive growth in recent years, and that data is being generated from sources that are increasingly complex and varied. Harnessing and refining value from this data requires a new approach as data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) becoming increasingly more costly and difficult to scale.
Organizations are looking to leverage Hadoop as an enterprise data hub—also called a “data lake” or “data reservoir”—as a key component of their data architecture to augment their data warehouse, ETL and analytical systems in order to maximize their existing investments, reduce costs, and unlock new business value from their data.
In this webinar, you will learn:
Real-world examples that illustrate why Hadoop is the best low-cost data hub, data lake, or data landing zone (staging area) option for ETL processing
Proof points that demonstrate advantages of Hadoop and its ability to scale to manage increasing data volumes and support exploratory big data analytics
Proven best practices for a cost-effective, reliable way to implement a data management platform for your entire big data analytical ecosystem
Hidden issues to be aware of in deploying your data hub/data lake

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Editor's Notes
Veracity refers to the reliability (biases, noise, abnormality) of the data. Given that structured and unstructured data is coming from increasingly different sources that are prone to include typos and funny abbreviations (e.g., tweets, hashtags, colloquial language), the question of reliability becomes pertinent.
Many data analysts therefore struggle to cleanse the data to make it more reliable and useful. Whether data are sufficiently reliable has been a discussion point throughout the last few decades in many organizations.
