Position papers are a method to evaluate the most current evidence and policies related to health care issues. They offer a way for researchers to explore the views of any number of organizations around a topic. This can help you to develop your own position and approach to care around a topic or issue.
This assessment will focus on analyzing position papers about an issue related to addiction, chronicity, emotional and mental health, genetics and genomics, or immunity. Many of these topics are quickly evolving as technology advances, or as we attempt to push past stigmas. For example, technology advances and DNA sequencing provide comprehensive information to allow treatment to become more targeted and effective for the individual. However as a result, nurses must be able to understand and teach patients about the impact of this information. With this great power comes concerns that patient conditions are protected in an ethical and compassionate manner.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
Competency 1: Design evidence-based advanced nursing care for achieving high-quality population outcomes.

The purpose of this discussion is to recommend two resources that should be provided for a 15 year old male newly diagnosed with Type II diabetes. Unfortunately, chronic diagnoses such as diabetes have the potential to cause mental health issues in teenagers. Developmentally, they want to be like their peers and fit in to a group. It has been studied that rates of depression in teenagers with diabetes can range from 8% to 22% (“Behavioral health and diabetes,” 2021). In my opinion, there are two reasons why this patient feels depressed. First, they may not have basic knowledge about their disease and how their life is going to change. Thus, the patient should be referred to a diabetes educator as recommended by the American Diabetes Association. This resource can help a patient increase their knowledge, skills and confidence with management of diabetes ("Diabetes education program," 2021). Most importantly, the counselor can discuss and help the patient overcome stigmas related to the disorder (“Behavioral health and diabetes,” 2021). With increased knowledge, the patient will hopefully feel they can manage the disease. In addition, the patient should be referred to a diabetes support group that specifically encompasses patients of the same age. In this group, the patient can discuss his own thoughts and feelings (“Diabetes and mental health,” 2021). The patient may feel less depression knowing that other kids are going through the same disease as him. Thus, a diabetes support counselor and support group are two resources that should be recommended.

PSY 638 Final Project Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric
Prompt: For Milestone One of your final project, you will submit a draft of the Problem Identification section of your grant proposal. Think about the professional
environment you will be seeking upon graduation and a potential problem within that professional environment that could be solved through your
recommended program. Some examples of professional settings and grant proposal problems include:
School/Educational Setting
Orchard Middle School has over 50 at-risk students with a reading performance that directly affects their overall self-esteem and negative behavior
issues. The school submitted a grant proposal to support development of a program to help all students with poor reading skills learn to read at grade
level and increase their reading speed, comprehension, and reading attention span and overall sense of worth, esteem, and achievement. Studies have
shown those who do better in school, fare better with stable mental health.
Outpatient Mental Health
The Open Arms Family Center requested a grant in the amount of $250,000 to contribute to the start-up funds for a family homeless shelter and mental
health services. As an innovative, all-inclusive shelter program, the center aimed to provide for 10 families with children under the age of five who are
experiencing homelessness. The center is committed to its mission of decreasing the overall number of homeless families in the Metro Boston area as
well as working to break the cycle of homelessness.
Community Outreach
The purpose of Healthy Tomorrows is to stimulate innovative, community-based programs that employ prevention strategies to promote access to
healthcare for children and their families nationwide. HTPCP funding supports direct-service projects, not research projects. Healthy Tomorrows is
designed to support family-centered initiatives that implement innovative approaches for focusing resources to promote community; define preventive
child health and developmental objectives for vulnerable children and their families, especially those with limited access to quality health services; foster
cooperation among community organizations, agencies, and families; involve pediatricians and other pediatric, child, and adolescent mental health
professionals; build community and statewide partnerships among professionals in health, education, social services, government, and business to
achieve self-sustaining programs to ensure healthy children and families. Healthy Tomorrows requested a grant proposal for $10,000 to conduct a needs
analysis for a meal delivery program to serve its less mobile community members.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed in your milestone assignment:
I. Problem Identification: Research and identify resources for a specific developmental, behavioral, or diagnostic need for children or adolescents in
your community.

The Interprofessional Team Immersion (IPTI) offers students across 13 health professions opportunities to apply their skills in cross-professional communication, teamness, and patient-centered engagement. The experience is characterized by high stakes cases carefully designed to cultivate an atmosphere conducive to rapid teambuilding and compassionate patient care. Within a safe learning environment, faculty and students acquire understanding of roles and responsibilities as well as skills to manage complex cases. This presentation will describe and demonstrate the rationale, design, and implementation of IPTI over a three-year period. Findings suggest significant increase in IPTI students’ perceptions of cooperation, resource sharing and communication skills for team-based practice. Programmatic evaluation substantiates the value students place on practicing interprofessional clinical skills before and while in their clinical-community rotations. Debriefing sessions with standardized patients enhanced students’ knowledge and appreciation for patient engagement and shared decision-making culminating for some in scholarly products. Advocating for new policies is an important aspect of the master’s-prepared nurse. For new policies to be compelling they need to be supported by evidence. Supporting data can be used to illustrate why new policies and interventions are needed to help address a specific health issue. Compelling data can help sway the stakeholders and gain support for your policy.

Another aspect of advocacy is disseminating new policies and interventions outside of the immediate care environment. This can be done by reaching out to professional organizations as well as academic and professional journals. A letter to the editor is one strategy for disseminating information to a wider audience, and to potentially enlist support throughout the wider professional community.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
Competency 1: Design evidence-based advanced nursing care for achieving high-quality population outcomes.
Evaluate the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
Justify why a developed policy will be vital in improving the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
Competency 2: Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of interprofessional interventions in achieving desired population health outcomes.
Analyze the ways in which interprofessional aspects of a developed policy will support efficient and effective achievement of desired outcomes for the target population.
Competency 3: Analyze population health outcomes in terms of their implications for health policy advocacy.
Analyze how the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population necessitates health policy development and advocacy.
Advocate for policy development in other care settings with regard to a specific issue in a target population.
Competency 4: Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, in an appropriate form and style, consistent with organizational, professional, and scholarly standards.
Communicate in a professional and persuasive manner, writing content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Integrate relevant sources to support assertions, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.

Review the following treatments and rationale. Do you agree or disagree? Why? What information from this week’s content or outside information can you cite to support your opinions?

In total, findings provide beneficial insight for other interprofessional educational and collaborative practice initiatives taking place at the University and in the community. He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

4&originTool=quicklinks 4/4 1 Spirituality in the Healthcare Setting Name Institution
Course Professor Date 2 Spirituality in the Healthcare Setting Question 1 Current Method of
Assessment I assess the spiritual needs of my patients using an acronym tool identified as
FICA.The FICA tool relies on four domains of spiritual evaluation. The domains are
identified as faiths or beliefs, importance and influences, community, and address. This tool
is patient-centered and is guided by how the patient selects to disclose his spiritual needs.
The spiritual assessment questions are structured in a way that they are non-judgmental or
bias. Time is a key aspect considered when using this assessment tool since it lays the
foundation for spiritual assistance and reflection. How well the patient will respond to my
open-ended questions depend on our relationship. Response to Assessment My patients
respond to the assessment positively, especially after I have formed a strong bond with
them. In most cases, they reveal their physical challenges such as limited sleep, nausea, pain,
and many others. Besides, some even reveal their emotional problems such as nervousness
and fear. As the discussion prolongs via a holistic dimension, I bring up spiritual issues that
the patients further respond to positively. For instance, they reveal that the community
plays a pivotal role in strengthening their spiritual believes through fellowship
programs. They also state that prayers and meditation enable them to be close to their
Spiritual Beings. Furthermore, the patients state that they require spiritual help from their
spiritual leaders. 3 Question 2 How Spiritual Consideration Impacts Patient’s Health
Spiritual considerations impact the health of the patient in profound ways. First of all, it
enables a patient to enjoy life even if he or she is in the middle of infection symptoms such
as pain. Secondly, it enables a patient to have a better quality of life and a more optimistic
outlook. For instance, a patient suffering from cancer will feel more comfortable and happy
in the presence of his spiritual leader as compared to other individuals. Furthermore, a
patient can come up with good decisions in situations that ethical judgments are required.
For example, if the doctor reveals to his family members that he should be euthanized,
spiritual belief can enable him to perceive that he might be healed. It also enables the health
care providers to coordinate with the hospital chaplains to provide spiritual care to the
patient (Jarvis, 2008). Finally, patients determine the worth of their lives through spiritual
considerations. Question 3: List of Questions 1. What do you perceive gives meaning to your
life? (Minton et al., 2018). 2. How has hospitalization or infection affected your personal
beliefs? (Timmins & Caldeira, 2017). 3. Which way do you think your spiritual demands
might be improved? 4. Does the community provide any spiritual care to you in any way? 4
