 There are 9.4 million disabled people in
England, accounting for 18 per cent of the
population
 45% are males
 55% are females
 The North East of England has the highest
proportion of disabled people, accounting for

 I think this is a good
portrayal as it shows
people with a disability
can still be talented.
Most talented people in
the media are healthy
and good looking so this
goes against the
stereotype.

 I think this is a bad
portrayal as it shows that
disability is seemed as a
bad thing. The name also
shows this because it
makes disabled people
look bad by saying they
are undatable.
 I don’t think that media representation is fair
because most films and movies with disabled
people usually show them in a bad way. It will
make people who don’t know anyone with a
disability think that the sterotypes are true
which could also increase abortions of
disabled people or putting them into
adoption. There are alot of good stereotypes
though which could make people see
disability as a good thing, but overall I think
it’s represented in a bad way.
