The document provides instructions for an assignment to write a directional strategies report for a healthcare organization. It discusses analyzing the alignment between an organization's mission, vision, and values (directional strategies) with its strategic goals. The report should identify any gaps and make recommendations. Previous assessments examined the organization's environment and strategic objectives. The directional strategies guide the organization to achieve its strategic goals. The report must demonstrate competencies in analyzing organizational structures and recommending improvements to better achieve strategic plans.

Episode 1:
Policy Analysis and Development
Overview
In this episode, you will be in a health care policy internship program in a Senator’s office in Washington, D.C. The Senator wants to develop policy that requires all health care organizations that receive federal funds to implement the recommendations presented in the Institute of Medicine reports on quality care. You will develop a policy, so that it can become proposed legislation. You must collect data, describe the problem, solutions and related ethical issues, examine the cost-benefit analysis, identify stakeholders (such as lobbyists from American Hospital Association, health care providers, health care corporations, pharmaceuticals, insurers, etc.), and impact. Based on this information, you will create a policy description that will be the foundation for a bill. You will describe critical issues that would be in the bill such as requirements of hospitals to:
Monitor and report medical errors to the Department of Health and Human Services
Use root cause analysis on a certain percentage of errors
Track and report patient outcomes focused on the clinical problems identified in the
National Health Care
Quality Report
Integrate the 5 health care profession core competencies into staff education and track outcomes
Establish a no-blame culture
*I suggest for you to do some research on your own, and if you use outside sources to help your compile your policy description, be sure to reference them (following an APA format) at the end of your post.
Assignment
You will post a policy description to this discussion board forum. Make sure to identify a plan that addresses legal and ethical issues in a health care policy. You must also respond to 2 of your peers' posts and make sure to reference any outside sources you may have used in your recommendation.

IV. Implementation Plan
Assess the factors that are likely to affect the implementation of your recommended activities
Many stroke patients require rehabilitation after their hospitalization and many patients get readmitted from post-acute care facilities, educating these facilities could decrease the readmission rate however rehabilitation facilities are often short-staffed and may not have money for education amongst the staff
Identify evidence-based rationales to propose how you will address them, incorporating your identified change theory. Your plan should encompass the following with evidence to support your rationale:
Technological challenges
Stroke patients require adequate follow-up care with their health provider team, tele-health is a great way to provide these follow-up appointments however stroke patients may not be able to navigate computers to be able to do these appointments as they frequently have deficits.
Stroke health care providers would have to learn how to use tele-health and there may be push back to using it due to health care providers typically using hands on assessment skills, they may not find assessing patients this way adequate. Finding a group of health care providers that are willing to start treating patients this way is the first step.
Institutional structures
Changes in hospitals do not happen overnight. At my state run hospital it seems to take forever to get any changes made. Implementing education regarding how to reduce stroke readmissions would require research and then approval from many different committees to even be approved for implementation. Once approved then it has to be sent all to all hospital staff involved. Examples of committees that a hospital will have and that any changes would have to go through are finance, safety and quality, strategic planning, and audit and compliance committee (Price, 2018).
Strategies for building buy-in-among different stakeholders, including nursing
Doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, social workers, and case managers will need to be on board with the change process. Historically nurses have a hard time with change.
Financial trends and anticipation of the availability of human resource and project funding
Implementing tele-health and training to decrease stroke readmission, mostly education and new ways to check that everything a patient needs, will cost money which the institution will have to be prepared to put into their budget. Institutions get penalized financially for readmis ...

Environmental Analysis of Arkansas Children Hospital
Arkansas Children Hospital is a private not-for-profit organization. The hospital provides healthcare facilities to children at the age of birth to the age of 21. It also offers an extensive variety of healthcare services in the therapeutic field including asthma, infectious diseases, cardiology, immunology, pharmacology, oncology, neuroscience, rehabilitation, pharmacology and others (ACH Child & Family Services, n.d.).
When conducting a comprehensive SWOT analysis of the healthcare organization, it outlined an in-depth strategic analysis of the businesses and activities of the organization. Based on the SWOT analysis, this paper will present an environmental analysis of Arkansas Children’s Hospital that outlines how important it is to develop a strategic plan that will be beneficial to the organization as well as the accomplishment of the visions, goals and mission.
Conducting an environmental analysis of the business is very important in that it allows you to accurately evaluate the surrounding circumstances as it relates to the success or failure of the specified organization. In this case, Arkansas Children’s Hospital can conduct an environmental analysis that will assist them in implementing a strategic plan that will be beneficial for the organization and the local communities.
Environmental analysis is a process which is used to identify all the internal and external elements that can affect the performance of an organization (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010). In order to be successful, the hospital will need to adapt to their internal environment by including financial and human resources, operations, technologies and policies to their external environment. This therefore calls for the performance of the environmental analysis to identify the possible influence of given aspects of the operating and general environments of the ACH’s activities of healthcare provision to children.
The purpose of the environmental analysis is to identify the threats and opportunities in the healthcare environment with regard to its weaknesses and strengths. An environmental analysis is also conducted as a way to gain a better understanding of the opportunities, threats, weaknesses and strengths of ACH to know where adjustments and corrective measures should be put in the development of the strategic plan.
The environment analysis is conducted also to assist in the process of developing the strategic plan that helps the hospital management to make an informed decision concerning the external environment of the hospital. Some of the external environmental factors that require consideration involve changes in politics of the day, environment pollution regulations, change in ...

Financial Statement Analysis
Based on your review of the financial statements, suggest a key insight about the financial health of the company. Speculate on the likely reaction to the financial statements from various stakeholder groups (employee, investors, shareholders). Provide support for your rationale.
Health Management Associates, Inc. (NYSE: HMA) is the operator and owner-general acute care centers in the non-urban communities situated in the US, particularly in the Southwest. The organization was founded in 1977. The hospitals provide services such as oncology, emergency room care, general surgery, internal medicine, radiology, pediatric services, coronary care, and diagnostic care (

).The company is also providing outpatient services like x-ray, respiratory therapy, one-day surgery, laboratory services, physical therapy as well as cardiology therapy. The mission of the Health Management is to provide America’s best local healthcare. They provide processes, capital finance, expertise, and people that can ensure that the local hospitals can accomplish their mission of delivering compassionate and high-quality healthcare that would substantially improve the lives of patients, the communities they serve, and the physicians providing the care

)
With regard to the review of the current financial statement, HMA is in a dangerous financial state as a result of the present increasing debts and legal woes. The Office of the Inspector General, Justice Department, and the Department of Health and Human Services served the organization with summons regarding a software program that was used by ED doctors and the records from the emergency department. Some reports suggested that there was pressure from the company’s hospitals management to admit patients from emergency rooms so as to maximize profits. Paul Meyer, former compliance director, claimed that HMA’s fraudulent activities could attract government investigation (Britt, 2012).
The common stock of Health Management Associates was owned by almost 850 shareholders, as per the records of December 31, 2012, with hundreds of institutional investors included. HMA had expanded to include 70 hospitals situated in 15 states, with roughly 10,562 present licensed beds. In 2012, HMA realized about $5.9 billion in net revenue (Britt, 2012).
HMA gets payments for the services it renders from the federal government through the Medicare program, the states in which it functions under each Medicaid program, and commercial insurance, among others; and patients, encompassing deductibles and co-payments. Basically, deductibles and co-payments are part of the bill of patients for the medical services provided, which many government and private payers expect the patient to cater for. ...

Community Benefit vs. Organizational Benefit
Perhaps you have been to a health fair sponsored by a local hospital in your community. Who benefits from such an effort? When you or your neighbors are screened for signs of illness (hypertension, for instance) or learn about available services, clearly the promotion benefits you, but what about the hospital? Having its name associated with "community service" benefits the institution. Any patients and/or clients the institution attracts may also result in some financial benefit, even if the organization is ostensibly "non-profit."
In this Discussion, you will identify examples of promotion for social change in your community and analyze whether the promotion benefits the community, the organization, or both.
To prepare for this Discussion:
· Review this week's Learning Resources.
· Identify two local health care providers and identify an example of each organization's effort in promoting a service or services as a form of positive social change. One of the organizations should be for-profit, the other, not-for-profit.
Post a brief description of how each organization's promotion fosters social change. Then, evaluate how each organization's marketing promotion benefits the community and how it benefits the organization. Finally, for each example of marketing promotion you have identified, analyze whether the interest of the community and the interest of the organization are in conflict. Briefly comment on how the promotions of the for-profit and non-profit organizations differ and how they are similar.
Support your work with specific citations from this week's Learning Resources and/or additional sources as appropriate.

Introduction
In any hospital setting, Patient Care Executives usually are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that patients receive high-quality healthcare. At Holy Cross hospital, this position is created to give the executives an opportunity of managing the patients and allow doctors to focus on treating the patients. This is intended to make the functions of the facility much smoother. Initially, a lot of work was being put on the physicians, leaving them with too little time to attend to the patients and offer the quality of care that is required.
Recently, however, physicians have been complaining that the Patient Care Executives do not perform their duties as expected. As earlier mentioned, the position was created in this facility to ensure that patients are well-taken care of and other management functions are also handled effectively. Generally, it was meant to ensure smooth management of the healthcare organization and provide a smooth system and relationship between the PCEs and the healthcare providers. As an administrator, it is essential to work closely with HR to ensure that qualified and competent candidates are hired in this position to avoid future concerns from the physicians. As a result, a regular evaluation is required to identify the factors that affect the functioning of Holy Cross Medical Center.
External Environmental Forces
Various external factors affect the operation of Holy Cross Medical Center. Some of the major external forces include competition and patient outcomes. It is important to note that like any hospital, the patient outcome reflects the image of the organization to the public and clients typically. It is an advantage that in recent years, patient satisfaction has improved. This must be maintained or even further enhanced. Patient outcome is one of the factors that affect the organization because it plays a crucial role in determining patient retention and can improve the image of Holy Cross in public, consequently affecting its competitive advantage in the healthcare market. This means that if the PCEs and the healthcare providers are capable of working closely and collaboratively, they can improve patient outcomes and satisfaction within Holy Cross and bring success to the organization (Ginter, Duncan & Swayne, 2013).
Another external factor affecting the operations of the Holy Cross is competition. It is noted that the organization is surrounded by various healthcare organizations, both public and private, with relatively better facilities. Holy Cross is expected to compete with such organizations by offering better quality care. Competition, in this ca ...

ECG management consultants. (2007). The Strategic Imperative of Adapting the Hospital’s Management Structure. Insight, 1-6. http://www.healthleadersmedia.com/content/86219.pdf
a)
The author points out that many hospitals are struggling with how to execute strategic plans effectively in their organizational structure. These institutions lack efficient decision-making processes, accountability for the performance of key strategies and the recognition of the importance of hospital strategies to propel them to new business. The key challenge in provider-based organizations is their inability to focus their strategies on the provision of high-quality patient care services. Hospitals should stop focusing on performance-driven traditional strategies and instead align their strategies to focus on a service line.
To ensure that such procedures are executed efficiently, it is important that their organizational structures are informed by the care service strategy. The organizational structure should ensure that the strategy is encompassed in their strategic plan, organizational control structure, management responsibilities and physician leadership. In today’s world, patients are seeking more care on their heart conditions, cancer or other illnesses or injuries rather than on traditional hospital departments such as nursing, physical therapy or radiology. By focusing on patient care functions along these service lines, hospitals can optimize performance. The organizational structure should also be streamlined to support key strategies. Laying a strong foundation for the organization structure is important to ensure that key strategies are executed effectively. The control structure should also be flexible enough to adapt to shifts in strategy. Introducing changes such as a focus on traditional performance-driven strategies to a service line is sometimes stalled due to a rigid management structure. It is important to have a flexible control structure to facilitate decision-making processes that are most times challenged by poor leadership structures.
b)
Given the opportunity, I would correct an inefficient hospital strategy by reorganizing the organizational structure to focus entirely on key strategies of a service line. Clinical services, planning, marketing and public affairs are some of the new elements that I would to traditional organizational structures in hospitals. This way, any shifts in strategies can easily be adapted due to a flexible control structure. At the same time, as a leader, I would focus on building value around my employees by assigning them responsibilities based on the right service lines. This will ensure that they remain accountable for their performance and use of resources along with their service lines. A good management structure is also necessary to maintain a good relationship between the business strategy and the performance of my employees.

It is obviously important when defining a project that the leaders have a clear perspective as to the direction of the project and the needs of the stakeholders. In the readings for this chapter the authors talked about the “power/interest” map for assessing stakeholders. Describe how this process works and its application. What are its advantages? How do you see this concept working in a modern organizational setting where a multitude of projects could be executed at any given moment?

Clearly the conceptualization of structures is very important in defining a project en route to execution. The authors of this text talked about both the work break down structure (WBS) as well as the process break down structure (PBS) describe both of these processes and articulate their application. Make sure that you discuss thoroughly the circumstances in which these tools are utilized and how they can be successfully implemented today. POLICY PROPOSAL
Introduction
Throughout this paper, I will explain why Mercy Health's suggested metric benchmarks fall short and why an organizational policy is needed to fix them. Second, highlight potential environmental factors and their effects on those strategies and provide ethically based strategies to improve metric performance issues. Thirdly, make a concise policy plan and offer suggestions for resolving performance issues concerning local, state, or federal policies. Finally, discuss stakeholders and group participation's role in successfully implementing procedures.
Proposed Change to Organizational Policy
Mercy Health's current benchmark was established to provide services of the highest possible quality in diabetes screening and prevention. In 2016 and 2017, there were three options for testing. Eye, foot, and HgbA1C tests were part of the testing. Each quarter's goals were established as suggested benchmarks for the provided services. The proposed benchmark exams were 45 for the eyes, 80 for the feet, and 140 for Hgb1Ac testing. The standard recommendations for all three services were below par, necessitating action to increase patient and community involvement. The underperformance of the benchmarks demonstrates a gap between community involvement in healthy living and practices and the hospital. As testing decreases, community illness rises, and health outcomes fall in the opposite direction. This affects care quality. African Americans, Caucasians, and American India.

Parkland Health & Hospital System
Balanced Score Card Briefing
Michelle Santiago
Capella University
Introduction
Established in 2009
Parkland Health & Hospital System has a superb reputation of providing quality care for individuals in Dallas.
It operates in more than 10 community clinics and various family and youth centers.
The strategy, which is discussed in this presentation is to embrace a more dynamic organizational structure that enhances growth and efficiency
Since its establishment in 2009, the Parkland Health and Hospital System has maintained a strong tradition of providing quality care to many individuals and communities in Dallas, Texas. The administration has embraced quality standards which enable all staff to embrace principles that foster quality care. As technology continues to peak at a high rate, there is a need for the hospital to undertake a strategic change to optimize the available opportunities and reduce the negative impacts they are currently facing. The strategy seeks to empower the hospital`s mission and vision in a way that heightens strong commitment to evidence based care practices. One of the notable shortcoming of the hospital is that it lacks a strong workforce that is actively involved in decision making and thus, hinders growth and development. It is key to note that, collaboration and innovation are currently not completely favored by the leadership team and thus hindering other employees to air their thoughts about the business.

Vision/Mission/Values
Mission is to provide quality care to individuals and communities
Vision statements is “By our actions, we will define the standards of excellence for public academic health system”
Vision connects with the core objectives of the organization.
The organization embraces values of providing optimum care at all cost to all people in the community.
To Parkland Health & Hospital System (2017), the hospital mission is dedicated to the well-being and health of individuals and communities. The vision statement creates a strong foundation for healthcare providers to ensure their actions align with the ethics and excellence governing the institution. Overall, the mission statement reflects the hospital`s passion in improving healthcare to all individuals in Dallas irrespective of any challenges that may emerge with culture, race, ethnicity, gender, social class, or educational background. Although the statement is insightful and connects with the core objectives of the organization it fails to focus on the system's objectives. Therefore, it is important for the hospital to review its vision statement so that it can help address the necessary initiatives.

Summary of Skills
For the development of an organization to be successful and effectively achieve set goals and objectives, strong management and organization skills will be required (Bateman & Snell, 2007). Our Team A brings a broad spectrum of skills and talents coming from life, educational and work-related experiences. Each member of the team possesses unique skill sets that will bring fresh ideas, techniques and creative solutions to challenges in the development of our consulting firm.
A thorough evaluation of our team member’s skills, suggests that our key strengths lie within teamwork and dedication, creating presentations, critical thinking, problem-solving techniques, communication, research, and observations. With these skills, this team will be able to successfully achieve most tasks necessary in the development of a consulting firm. This team will need to use these skills to collaborate efforts in a cooperative manner to create, plan, develop and accomplish the goals of the consulting firm. This evaluation also portrays a strong dedication to learning and improving which is beneficial in the development of new skills that may be needed.
Most members of our team currently have educational and professional experience that proves an intense desire to improve and advocate change and educate communities to collaborate an effort enhancing the lives of individuals. This desire will effectively promote positive changes both within communities as well as at a societal level. The team’s overall commitment is to meet basic human needs through education, focusing on identification of challenges and prevention, as well as assist in overcoming personal and organizational obstacles that individuals may face. Our team is committed to improving the overall quality of life through advocacy and action.
The first type of consulting firm that we could possibly work with would be a human services/independent living consulting program. This program would collaborate with a client’s care givers, doctors and independent care organizations to assist in facilitating a client’s independence and improve or maintain health. This consulting firm would collaborate efforts to create an independent, long-term care plan that will enhance the develop of daily living skills, educate on services and programs available, exercise the right to make healthy living choices, and encourage pro-active involvement of all care-giving professionals in the pursuit of personal growth, presence, and participation in the long term care process. This program will improve and emphasis respect and dignity through the promotion of independence.
PLEASE ADD THE OTHER TWO TYPES HERE!
The types of problems these consulting firms might solve.
Inflexible regulatory and legal issues create competitive obstacles human services providers face when offering health services to communities.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS

1: Aggression and Violence
Aggression is, “an act or behavior that intentionally hurts another person, either physically or psychologically” (Matsumoto & Juang, 2008, p. 389). While some expressions of aggression are universal, cross-cultural differences exist in the type and level of aggression that are considered to be legally or socially sanctioned. There have been multiple reasons proposed by theorists to explain these cultural differences in the type (verbal, physical, etc.) and level of aggression expressed across cultures.
For this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources. Select a culture and consider how this culture expresses aggression.
With these thoughts in mind:
a brief description of the culture you selected. Provide an example of a behavior that may be perceived as aggressive by culture you selected and explain why. Then, provide an example of a behavior that may be perceived as aggressive across most cultures and explain why. Finally explain how socially sanctioned violence is acceptable within certain cultures. Support your responses using the Learning Resources and the current literature.

2: Attribution
“Not only do people bolster beliefs in their ability to control in response to successful control of an event but also they hold an unwarranted belief that they can control chance events,” states Yamaguchi (Matsumoto (Ed.), 2001, pp. 226–227) in the course text. While members of all cultures have the goal of protecting self-image following failures, differences exist among cultures in terms of the attributions made for the failure and success of a task. Thus, while the self-serving bias is universally applied, the specific attributions made differ cross-culturally. In some cultures, it is assumed that failure is attributable to situational factors while others assume dispositional factors.
Differences also exist in how the failure or success of another individual is attributed. Consider the relevance of attributions for success and failure for the scholar-practitioner working in a multicultural environment or in a global company. How would knowledge of how individuals’ attribute their own or others failure impact a team, classroom, or organization?
For this Discussion, imagine that a group of business people from two different cultures (one from a collectivistic culture and another from an individualistic culture) work together on a business project, and at the end, the project fails. Consider how people from individualistic and collectivistic cultures respond to failure and the factors to which they would most likely attribute their failures.
With these thoughts in mind:
a brief comparison of the similarities and differences of attribution styles in individualistic and collectivistic cultures. Then provide an example of a group situation in which a proj ...

The mission of the Health Management is to provide America’s best local healthcare. They provide processes, capital finance, expertise, and people that can ensure that the local hospitals can accomplish their mission of delivering compassionate and high-quality healthcare that would substantially improve the lives of patients, the communities they serve, and the physicians providing the care

)

Balanced Score Card Briefing

Assignment: Directional Strategies ReportORDER NOW FOR COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION
PAPERS ON Assignment: Directional Strategies ReportWrite a 4–6-page directional
strategies report that examines the alignment of a health care organization’s current
directional strategies with its strategic goals. Include improvement recommendations that
address gaps between where the organization currently is and where it wants to go.
Assignment: Directional Strategies Report.Note: Each assessment in this course builds upon
the work you have completed in previous assessments. Therefore, you must complete the
assessments in the order in which they are presented.SHOW LESSIn your previous
assessments, you examined how today’s health care organizations prepare themselves for
the present and the future through strategic management. Specifically, you analyzed how a
health care organization’s external and internal environments affect its operations. You also
performed a TOWS analysis to help a health care organization identify strategic objectives
to drive and improve all aspects of the company. The next step is to consider the directional
pathways health care organizations take to achieve their strategic objectives. Creating a
strategic vision for a health care organization involves developing or revising the
organization’s mission, vision, and value statements. Here is a summary of these three
directional strategies:A mission statement captures the organization’s distinctive purpose
or reason for being.A vision statement creates a mental picture of what leaders want the
organization to achieve when accomplishing its purpose or mission.Value statements clarify
how the organization will conduct its activities to achieve its mission and vision. They
frequently reflect common morality and emphasize respect, integrity, trust, caring, and the
pursuit of excellence. In a first-in-class health care organization, these three directional
strategies align with the company’s overarching goals. Once strategic leaders are confident
the mission, vision, and values are well formulated, understood, and communicated, they
then focus on the activities that will make the most progress toward accomplishing the
organization’s mission and move it toward realizing its vision. These activities are called
strategic goals. This assessment provides an opportunity for you to create a directional
strategies report. In this report, you will analyze the alignment of your health care
organization’s current directional strategies (mission, vision, and value statements) with its
strategic goals. You will make recommendations for improvement if you identify gaps
between where your health care organization currently is and where it wants to go.By
successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the
following course competencies and assessment criteria:Competency 1: Analyze
2. organizational structure, design, culture, and climate in relation to environmental
forces.Analyze the effectiveness of a health care organization’s directional
strategies.Identify gaps between effective directional strategies and an organization’s
existing directional strategies. Assignment: Directional Strategies Report.Competency 3:
Recommend an organizational structure and design to optimize a strategic plan.Analyze the
alignment between an organization’s directional strategies and its strategic goals.Propose
changes to an organization’s directional strategies that improve alignment between its
organizational structure and its strategic goals.Competency 4: Communicate in a manner
that is scholarly professional, and consistent with expectations for professionals in health
care administration.Write a clear, concise, well-organized, and professional directional

ocxdirectional_strategies_TOWS Matrix Analysis and Strategic PlanThreatsResearch shows
that TTUHSC needs to maintain a continued relationship with the teaching hospitals to
diverge their mission. Creating a collaborative view will help in ensuring that its set mission
of diversity is achieved. Moreover, relationship will be maintained which will create
interaction between care providers. Secondary, TTUHSC is facing an enormous challenge as
money sponsored by the government to its operation remain flat. Previously, it was found
that the health sector has the highest number of foreign patients. Based on the stipulated
policies, foreigners are unaccounted for in the Affordable Care Act, and they are supposed to
self-pay (Maa, 2015). The State government underfunds health services which result in
increased expenses for services delivered. This has been the main issue threatening the
success of the TTUHSC.The total discretionary funds that are health sector receive from the
University medical center to the SOM initiative is less, which lead to some of the initiatives
being abandoned for sometimes or remain unattended at all. From the finding, the health
sector suffers from the changing reimbursements environment and reduced Medicare
funding. Government funding depends on current government rules and healthcare
regulations. Healthcare suffers from inconsistent patient referrals, which have resulted in
unpredictable patterns and reduced relationships. There is the issue of maintaining teaching
capacity as there is increased outcome expectations of learners, the number of students, and
the number of teaching faculty who are nearing their retirement age. The faculty is required
to generate a return which equals to the teaching requirements. This is because there is a
faculty that has been in existence for quite some time, but it does not have a revenue stream
and lacks teaching responsibilities, which significantly affect its ability to hire young people.
Moreover, there is an expansion of the total number of medical students both nationally and
internationally without adequate residency positions, which has dramatically decreased the
return on investment for sponsoring basic science research. Assignment: Directional
Strategies Report.OpportunitiesTTUHSC has a lot of open opportunities. Based on the
analysis, there is leadership commitment. This commitment has resulted in continued and
improvement of clinical and basic science integration, technology advancement, and timely
delivery of curriculum, which among them involved forming the department of medical
3. education. The TTUHSC can take advantage of the increased inter-professional education
opportunities for its students. Moreover, the health sector has a chance to improve its
services through expansion of small groups that have opportunities to learn from the new
experiences as new facilities are constructed on the campuses. The health sector wants to
take advantage of expanding the Covenant training center to the expansion of the
education program as well as creating a new professional relationship that will increase its
relationship with the community.Healthcare has sustained the expansion of clinical
locations, clinical services, and the financial stability of its medical facilities. Based on the
findings, its development is evidenced by increased profits, revenue, and account
receivable, which has improved the loyalty of their patients and a continued commercial
mix. The healthcare has taken advantage of the increased revenue as a department are
allowed to hire faculty for use in the clinical services. Because of the development of a new
Center of excellence, TTUHSC has increased its training for interdisciplinary patients care
opportunities. To attend to significant needs and provide quality services to their patients,
the Health Center has developed more residency programs in Amarillo, San Antonio,
Lubbock, and Permian Basin. Use of telehealth and telemedicine has facilitated its expansion
and effective medical services. To take advantage of the existing medical gap, TTUHSC has
embraced a continued improvement of aging science laboratories and renovation to
encourage the research of the current faculty researches as well as recruit new
faculty.WeaknessesBased on the findings, there are weaknesses that TTUHSC should
improve, although it has fewer resources as compared to its competitors to remain
competitive and maintain its public reputation. First, there is uncertainty and limitation of
reimbursement caused by government policy changes. Some of the policy changes that have
negatively affected Health sectors is the Affordable Care Act, which requires uninsured and
underinsured to access health services. Secondly, the health sector needs a different
payment method. This is because TTUHSC has recorded the highest number of foreigners
such as Somalis and Hispanics who came for health services as compared to California
health center (Gostin, L. and Wiley, 2016).. Moreover, interpreters are required as most of
these people do not speak English. TTUHSC lack significant funding for external research,
which leads to limited numbers of clinical and basic sciences that are involved in the
research. From the findings, there are inadequate expansion areas for TTUHSC. This will
require the organization to seek for an external land where it will provide administrative
and clinical services to its clinical facilities in all of its campuses. Finally, the total amount of
HEAF funds has reduced due to expansion in community campuses and the increased needs
of the other school. This has resulted in inadequate funding that is required to sponsor
programs and project. There are fewer resources as compared to other health sectors as
community campuses, and the needs of different community schools should balance with
the existing funds to avoid shortages.StrengthsBased on the findings, there areas that
TTUHSC perform exceptionally well, and people can recognize their strengths. Based on
their analytical performance, one of its key advantages was recorded by the LCME
institutional site, which confirmed its strength in medical education. Their success included
active development of students’ affairs, infrastructural and administration, culture, and an
overall solid financial base. Secondly, TTUHSC performs a thorough selection when
4. admitting new students, which have enhanced its public reputation. With this, it has been
ranked as one of the medical training centers that have more than above the set average
score. This has led to good gradations because students are fully certified and are equipped
with the required skills.TTUHSC has successfully implemented and expanded its clinical
services to Covenant branch campus. The expansion has facilitated the provision of equal
health services to people, and many people will have an opportunity to receive medical
services. Based on the data, the health Centre utilizes the use of telemedicine, which makes
overall day-day activities more efficient and effective. Through the use of the electronic
health system, patients can quickly secure scheduling and rescheduling, which reduces
overcrowding in the faculty (Dumortier, J., & Verhenneman, 2011). It was found that
TTUHSC has the highest number of students that participate in research. These students are
across all the State in America, which increases equality and diversity. The residency
program has been made available where members of the public can easily access those
medical resources. The health organization has well-trained care providers in the faculty
with a wide range of specialty. This is evidenced as there is a continued increase in patient
visits, increase in patient revenue, and hospital funding as compared to prior years. The
health facility has created a very successful partnership with hospitals, and the community
provides at all campuses, which has resulted in continued visit because of enhanced
rapport.About research, TTUHSC is ranked at the global and national level as it provides a
solution through its research programs to extensive issues in health sectors. Its
commitment to growth and research is evidenced through its financial aid from the school
department and the development of the strong Centers of Excellence in quite several
research areas. This has led to its remarkable core facilities for the continuing research
development, development, and recognition for faculty development and excellent
utilization of the ELUM faculty to expound on the feminine role in research and education
which has created gender participation in research. Assignment: Directional Strategies
Report.Draft strategic planTo rhyme with the needs of patients and care providers and
work toward achieving their vision, TTUHSC requires to take strategic changes to enhance
the changing laws and guarantee its continuity in the health sector. Therefore, the current
strategy of TTUHSC is necessary to review its functional organizational structure.
Embracing a new structure that incorporate matrix mix will help it to expand their research
disparities, health and patients growth, financial growth, and will help in compliance with
the set government rules and regulations (Jackson, C. and Gracia, 2014). The strategic draft
of the TTUHSC will be as follows:Specialty and facility. TTUHSC need to review its expansion
to accommodate more care providers to provide quality services to their patients. Based on
the findings, the following are departments that are currently available; pediatrics,
gynecology, obstetrics, psychology, Surgical, family medicine clinics, and a therapy clinic.
Expanding into more broad medical services such as Urology and cancer centers will help
patients that reside in Amarillo to access all the services from the facility (Gingrass, 2015).
This strategy will help the facility to retain patients instead of them to keep changing from
one medical provider to the other.Academics. TTUHSC is an educational center, and
therefore, it should provide innovative educative programs to their students so that they
can be researchers, competent and caring healthcare professionals. This can be achieved
5. through delivering inter-personal education and experiences that are meaningful,
promoting innovative approaches in learning and teaching, and enhancing professional and
personal development to their students.Research. TTUHSC require to advance their
research portfolio through laying a lot of emphasis to collaborating with external funding to
improve on their areas of strengths in medical research. Therefore, it requires to develop an
infrastructural plan that will maximize the use of the available resources to collaborative
acquire funds to extend on their research. Moreover, unique funding opportunities require
to be explored to increase the research and enhance its reputation and visibility from the
public.Service and Outreach. TTUHSC require to improve its health services to communities
within the region it operates through providing community outreach and patient care
services. To achieve this, the facility is required to provide a collaborative and positive
patient experience and continue the use of telehealth to maintain their public image by
preserving pace with the current technology (Weaver C., Ball, M., Kim, G., and Kiel,
2016).People. When offering services, it should provide equal services regardless of
geographical and culture of its patients. To achieve this, TTUHSC needs to create a
sustainable culture that’s value-based. Value-based culture can be created by integrating
and identifying the value that defines its identity. Secondly, the facility should considerably
invest in people development and growth to have a competitive advantage over its
competitors in the market.Operations. In conducting its services, TTUHSC requires to
ensure that its operation and infrastructures efficiently and effectively its mission. This
can be done through improving its operational infrastructure so as to achieve its unique
services effectively, research, academic, and business need to all their campuses and sites.
Moreover, TTUHSC should work collaboratively with all its shareholders to achieve their
objective.ReferencesDumortier, J., & Verhenneman, G. (2011). Legal Regulations on
