A Digital Native is someone born during or after the widespread adoption of digital technology who has never known a world without digital devices and the internet. The term was coined in 2001 to describe younger generations who grew up with technology and have superior skills in digital environments compared to older Digital Immigrants. Examples of technologies Digital Natives are fluent with include mobile phones, computers, the internet, and digital music.
