Digestive system
By Eden
Mouth
the teeth in your mouth is used to breaking down food in smaller
particles.
Esophagus
Food goes into stomach through food pipe. The muscles in esophagus
help food to travel to stomach. It is also like a stretchy pipe that’s
about 10 inches (25centimeters) long.
STOMACH
• In the stomach the food is mixed with stomach acid. When food enters
the stomach it is mixed with digestive juices. The stomach mixes and
churns the content to make a paste which Is called Chyme
Small intestine
• Food is further broken down and absorbed with the help of intestinal
juices. The food is absorbed by the blood with help of villi present in the
small intestine.
Large intestine
• Water is absorbed and further the undigested food passes
through the large intestine to rectum. This is undigested food
is called fecal matter.
Rectum/Anus
The faecal matter is expelled out of the body.
