This document is a dissertation submitted by Mary Dietmann to Southern Connecticut State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Doctorate in Education degree. The dissertation explores faculty beliefs and practices regarding the inclusion of caring for cancer survivors in undergraduate nursing curricula. Through qualitative interviews, the study aimed to understand faculty knowledge of cancer survivorship, and their views on incorporating related theory and clinical experiences into nursing programs. The results identified barriers and facilitators to addressing this gap in nursing education content. Improving education about cancer survivor care is important as nurses in all practice areas will provide care for this growing patient population.
