This document outlines a business improvement process (BIP) with the goals of achieving operational excellence and maximizing shareholder value. The BIP has two main components: daily process control and process change methodology. Daily process control involves visual display boards, metrics tracking, opportunity identification, and daily meetings. Process change methodology utilizes a DMAIC problem-solving approach for large-scale initiatives over 3-6 months. Both aim to develop a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
Leading procurement organizations are delivering twice as much cost reduction as typical companies and driving competitive advantage through supplier-driven innovation and risk management. They have continued to advance since 2011 by more closely integrating with business units, expanding their use of leadership practices, and achieving breakthrough financial results. Typical companies have only sustained gains made since 2011 and are missing opportunities to further increase impact.
This document provides an introduction to financial fraud, defining it as fraud involving a financial account or transaction. It focuses on retail payment card and deposit account fraud committed against innocent consumers (third party fraud) or by account holders themselves (first party fraud). Financial fraud is a serious and costly problem due to its negative economic impacts, with direct costs to victims and institutions as well as indirect costs like reduced consumer trust. Efforts are needed across multiple stakeholders to effectively prevent, detect and prosecute this evolving threat.
Magazine Publishers' Transformation: The Time to Act is Now! Value Partners
The document discusses how magazine publishers need to transform their business models in response to the shift from print to digital advertising. It notes that while digital advertising is growing, traditional publishers face challenges competing against large online players that dominate areas like search and social media. The publishers have lost some of their share of the overall advertising market and will need to adapt their business models to address this change in order to remain successful in the future.

This document discusses strategic enterprise modeling and strategic process integration. It introduces enterprise modeling as a way to capture an organization's structure, processes, information and other essential elements. The document then discusses how strategic process integration can help link an enterprise model to an organization's strategies and objectives. Even if China's GDP growth slows to 5.5%, personal consumption is projected to increase by about half to $6.5 trillion, by 2020. But growth is only a part of the story: demographic, social, and technological forces will transform China's consumer economy.
- Interest in reshoring production from China to the US remains strong, with more companies moving from consideration to active reshoring. The US is now seen as a more likely destination for new manufacturing capacity than China or Mexico.
- Key drivers for expanding US manufacturing capacity include reducing costs and shipping times, access to skilled labor, and allowing for more local control over production.
- Investments in automation and advanced manufacturing are viewed as opportunities to further increase efficiency and competitiveness.
- Executives anticipate continued net job growth in US manufacturing over the next five years, though prospects are slightly lower than the previous year due to global economic uncertainties.
US manufacturers are adopting Industry 4.0 technologies at an uneven pace, with cybersecurity, big data and analytics seeing the highest levels of implementation. While most see Industry 4.0 as an opportunity to improve productivity, defining a strategy and changing company culture are major challenges. Adoption offers benefits beyond productivity like increased flexibility, quality and speed of production. Hiring talent and acquiring new capabilities are critical enablers for manufacturers to successfully adopt Industry 4.0.

Today’s leaders are poorly served by conventional management theories and practices. Instead of helping executives manage the growing complexity of business, the supposed solutions only seem to make things worse. A new book from BCG outlines a better approach to managing complexity. The approach is called smart simplicity, and it hinges on six simple rules.
This document analyzes the author's past and present romantic relationships using a BCG matrix format. It summarizes that the author's current relationship ranks highly compared to other relationships but that awareness of the relationship is low. The physical characteristics between the author and his partner are described as strong, though a disconnect was found between what the partner needs from the relationship and what the author provides. The summary concludes that the current relationship appears to be weakening with long-term prospects diminishing, and that addressing roadblocks is important to maintain the relationship.
