Historically, Colombia's imposing landscape left its various regions largely isolated, resulting in very strong regional identities. Culture, dress, music, food, politics and attitudes vary greatly between regions like Bogota and the coffee region. Television and soccer are popular unifying cultural forces in Colombia. Famous Colombians include authors Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Fernando Vallejo, artists Fernando Botero, and actors Sofia Vergara and John Leguizamo. Colombian cuisine was influenced by Spanish, Italian, French and indigenous traditions.
