The National Planning Commission was established by President Zuma in 2010 to advise the government on long-term development issues in South Africa. The Commission consists of 25 experts tasked with drafting a vision for 2030, a development plan to achieve this vision, and reports on key issues. The Commission will work with the public and experts to develop evidence-based recommendations for the government to address challenges like poverty, inequality, education and unemployment and ensure South Africa meets its constitutional objectives.
