Diabetes
 Group  of metabolic diseases that
  makes the person have high blood
  sugar.
 There are three known types of
  diabetes
 Type 1
 Type 2
 Gestational diabetes
Diabetes types
 Type 1: the body cant make insulin.
 Type 2 : the body makes insufficient insulin
  amount or the insulin is not working
  properly in the body.
 Gestational diabetes : only pregnant
  women gets this type during pregnancy
  and it may develop to type 2 diabetes.
What are the causes ?
 Type   1: the body immune system attacks
  and destroys the insulin making cells
 Type 2: no main reason until now but
  doctors connect this to genetics and the
  lifestyle.
What are the symptoms?
 Frequent  urination
 Increased thirst
 Sudden hunger
 Sudden weight loss
 Vision change
 Tiredness or lack of energy
 Slow healing wounds
The symptoms shows fast in type 1
but takes long time to appear in
type 2
The treatment :
 Type  1 : insulin injections + special
  diet + exercising.
 Type 2 : tablets + healthy diet +
  exercising.
 Both types last for a lifetime
How to prevent diabetes ?
 Healthy   balanced diet
 Active lifestyle
 Exercising
 Some times change in lifestyle could
  be needed like cutting out the
  sweets
Nutrients that help prevent
diabetes
 Some  nutrients can help as doctors say in
  controlling the diabetes and sugar level in
  blood like:
 Brown rice
 Sweet potatoes instead of regular
  potatoes
 Whole wheat food
 Whole grain foods
 Foods that contains high fiber like oats

 Recent studies shows that almost 19.2% of
 residents have diabetes in both types.

  on educating population
  about the diabetes

  periodic tests for diabetes

 To  prevent the diabetes the best
  and most successful ways is:
 have the right healthy diet
 exercising and having an active
  lifestyle
 periodic testing for the sugar
 level in the blood
