Responsible for the direction of a team of UAW skilled trades personnel (electricians,
millwrights, pipefitters and toolmakers) in the analysis, troubleshooting, repair,
installation and maintenance of automation, conveyors, test systems and die cast
equipment in high volume automotive manufacturing assembly and die cast operations.
• Administered and monitored weekly preventative maintenance procedures, raising
completion rates from 84% to 100% reducing annual operating cost by $620K.
• Tracked and decreased daily expenditures for parts and supplies to within budget,
resulting in a $160K reduction in variable expenses.
• Developed and implemented an equipment/conveyor startup checklist to verify
proper equipment operation/cycling prior to production startups, resulting in 90%

mechanical sub-assemblies for use with sonar and navigational equipment. Performed
dual role as a Manufacturing Supervisor and Engineer establishing new processes,
implementing engineering documentation and procedures, resolving process and
equipment issues while also directing production flow and scheduling.
• Initiated quality control, scrap and rework, and on line inspection teams to ensure
process procedure adherence, quality conformance and reduced cost associated
with scrap and rework, result in an annualized savings of $35K.
• Established an annual budget of approximately 3.5 million dollars for multiple
work centers and effectively monitored and reforecast budgets based on actual
versus budgeted dollar variances for the fiscal year. Consistently remained 10%
to 20 % below the annualized budget target.
