A Brief Note On Transportation And Logistics Management
In the vast industry that is transportation and logistics management, has a lot of influence on the
economy of the United States. One of the reasons for the close connection of the industry and U.S
economy is because of globalization, and in the content of this paper we will examine different
segments of the industry, and how they affect the economy in different ways. Addressing specific
segments of the industry tells us just how important each segment is to the economy, instead of
speaking of the industry in general. Throughout this research paper we will be looking at five
specific transportation and logistics operation within the industry. The airlineindustry is very
important to the many cities within the United States, creating a number of jobs because of the
ability that airports have to connect cities to the rest of the world. Job created through the air
transport systems that help boost a cities economy is tourisms and airport jobs, which can help to
transform a city. The cruise shipindustry also help boost cities, which operates port of call for the
cruises that operate from them. Cruises also generates many jobs in the tourism sector as people
sometimes have to fly and overnight from different cities to board these cruises. Another major
factor that is affecting the industry is globalization and how it is able to create jobs and help
improve the economy. Other areas in the transportation and logistics industry that has an affect on
the economy is the overuse of

FIFA s Not So Objective Role in Football
FIFA s Not So Objective Role in Football Football has always historically been known as the
most played, most loved, and most influential sport in the world. The history of football, which
was first played by the ancient Greeks and Romans, is a long one that has played some role in
shaping almost every country s culture as we know it today. The game of football is seen by
many as a game that has the rare power to bring nations together. Football is a language that every
nation can speak, where despite the many differences in cultures between nations; football is a

The World Cup allows countries to display their nationalism in supporting their countries team,
but to also show how the game of football is a language that we all speak regardless of your
religion, language, political views, and culture. The objectivity of FIFA on picking the location
of recent World Cups has brought FIFA and its president Sepp Blatter under heavy criticism.
FIFA has specifically been criticized regarding the role of politics in objectively picking each
World Cup s location (Plaja, Steffi). Objectively picking a World Cup location requires specific
criteria for a location to be considered, some countries just do not have the infrastructure among
other criteria to host the World Cup. As a non governmental organization, FIFA is required to
hold a political objectivity when choosing the location for each World Cup. Recent allegations of
corruption in the location selection process have brought FIFA s highest members under heavy
criticism. FIFA s current selection process allows countries who want to host the World Cup to
submit bids to FIFA. The bidding process allows for politics to become heavily integrated into the
overall selection process (Plaja, Steffi). Allowing countries to bid for the ability to host the World
Cup provides some countries with a significant advantage over others to win the bid. FIFA s
bidding process has allowed politics

Importance Of Peer Pressure In My Life
If there is one thing that I ve learned in this life, it would be that friends can pressure you into
doing almost anything. That could be taken as a positive, or it could be taken as a negative,
which it is in my case. Peer pressure is hard to ignore, and when you re young and naive, you will
do anything your friends tell you to do. Being a brainless middle schooler that I once was, I lit a
fire in the bathroom. Imagine showing up to the middle school as a scrawny, scared, unintelligent
fifth grader. Being a normal kid, I hated having to go to school. What started out to be a normal
day, ended up with a friend and I in the principal s office. I thoughtthe day was going to be
uneventful, and I wasn t going to learn anything because I didn t like to pay attention in class.
Due to that day, I learned a very valuable lesson. Just because your friends are doing it, doesn t
mean that it s right or that it is a good idea. Lighting a fire in a small enclosed area is very foolish.
For some reason, bathrooms are a place that we as kids enjoyed to hang out and mess around in.
That was where we could mess around and talk about absolutely anything and not get into trouble,
well at least we thought that anyway. It would ve been fine until one of my friends named Kevin
Herndon decided to bring a lighter to school for some odd reason. I m not going to blame the
whole incident on him, because I helped worsen the situation, but I do blame most of it on him. If
he wouldn t have decided to

According to the World Bank, PPP broadly refers to arrangements, typically medium to long
term, between the public and private sectors whereby part of the services or works that fall under
the responsibilities of the public sector are provided by the private sector, with clear agreement on
shared objectives for delivery of public infrastructure and/ or public services. PPP has the ability to
link the expertise in the private sectorand the control in the public sector. PPP doesn t work for all

Later the 4 projects were put on hold after the Ministry of Communications reviewed it and decided
to bring it under the government purview. The projects include metro and rail scheme and PTB had
taken steps in preparing them for the private sector. If the ministry doesn t approve the project then
it would be a great blow to Kuwait which wants to attract private sector and new technology to the
country. The metro and rail would become the largest private sector projects if they get approved.
The MPA (Mega Project Agency) designs and implements the infrastructure projects in Kuwait.
In 2008 a new BOT (Build Operate Transfer) law was passed as Kuwait recognized the
requirement to attract foreign investors and start the development plan. BOT is the method
through which private sector would be involved in mega projects under the Kuwait development
plan. The new law was a model of PPP according to which, the private investors would build and
operate for a fixed time frame and benefit from the revenue streams. In Kuwait time frame was
usually 20 40 years after which it would be transferred to the government. Despite all the optimism,
the government did not sign any BOT contracts and 31.4% projects or $61.2 billion worth of
projects were held or called off. Promises by the ministers and senior officials became a routine in
the media with the private investors frustrated in investing. The main challenges facing private

Orphan Train Essay Rough Draft Christina Baker Kline s novel Orphan Train follows the the
paths of two very similar women who are separated only by age. One of the main characters,
Molly Ayer, is a seventeen year old high school student who has been assigned to yet another
unwanted foster home. After attempting to steal a book from the local library, Molly has to help
an elderly woman clean out her attic to avoid having to go to juvenile detention. The elderly
woman, Vivian Daly, is the other protagonist in the story and has a past that is very similar to

After being reunited with Dutchy, Vivian once again has a person who understands and cares
about her past and her future. I can t believe I found you, he tells me over and over, and I can t
believe it either. It s as if a piece of my past has come to life, and with it all the feelings I fought
to keep down my grief at losing so much, at having no one to tell, at keeping so much hidden.
Dutchy was there. He knows who I was. I don t have to pretend (Kline 238).
Soon after Vivian and Duchy are married, Dutchy is recruited to join the military and fight in
World War 2. After Dutchy leaves to start his training, Vivian returns to not acknowledging her
feelings as much as she should. Instead she s more involved in Dutchy s feelings and well being
than her own. You can tell by the way she writes letters to him that all she cares about is him
coming home safely. I puzzle over the onion skin, trying to spill my heart onto the page. But I can
only come up with the same words, in the same order, and hope the depth of feeling beneath them
gives them weight and substance. I love you. I miss you. Be careful. Be safe (Kline 243).
Unfortunately, later on in the story Vivian receives the news that Dutchy was killed in a plane crash
and that she would never see him again. After hearing this news,

The Invention Of The Electric Light Bulb
Can you ever imagine a world without light bulb? Before light bulb was created, the night can
only be lit by the moon and stars. People working and traveling after sunset could only use
candles or oil lamps, which caused many inconveniences. Without any bright light, moving
inside your own house even seemed dangerous. However, things changed after the ambitious
inventors brought their bright idea, which was to light the world, to life. The invention and the
commercialization of light bulb not only changed the way people live, but also became a
technological breakthrough for future energy use in our daily lives. The electric light bulb has
been called the most important invention ever since the discovery of fire. Before eighteenth
centuries, there are limited sources of light. The most common artificial light sources for people
to use were only candles, oil lamps, and fire. These light sources not only emitted very weak
lights, but also produced smokes and awful orders, which made people impossible to work
productively after sundown. Many houses at that time period were made of timbers, therefore,
having fire or open flame inside the house was hazardous. Once a house caught on fire, the entire
neighborhood would be in danger, since there was no running water inside the buildings. Darkness
was the epitome of evil. When the sun went down and darkness spread through, the night became
the realm of crime. The darkness worked as the perfect cover for thief, murderer, and rapist.

The Cloud Of Cloud Computing
2. The cloud. Could computing is a new technology, which is receiving a lot of attention from
businesses and information technology companies. Cloud computing involves the subscribing
services and obtaining a network based storage space as well as computer resources over the
Internet. Basically, cloud computing is the delivery of computing resources over the Internet. It
gives people and businesses an opportunity to make use of hardware and software that are under
the control and management of third party companies located in remote locations. Some of the
examples of cloud services are webmail services such as Yahoo and Gmail, online business
applications, online file storage and social networking sites. The cloud computing technology
enables companies to access information and other computer resources from any part where a
network connection is available. The technology provides a pool of resources that are shared.
The pool of resources includes networks, data storage space, and computer processing power and
customized user and corporate applications. What cloud can do for companies? There are various
benefits the cloud can offer to companies. The first one is saving costs of the cloud. Choosing
cloud enables the business to save money in many ways. For example, cloud eliminates the need
to invest in storage hardware as well as other physical infrastructure such as servers. In addition,
companies will save costs by eliminating the need to have a dedicated and full time

Sparta, not Athens, won the war against Persia Essay
The Greek victory against Persia was largely due to efforts of mainly Athens but also Sparta as
well. Athens was responsible for the major turning points of the Persian invasions, while Sparta was
responsible for the deciding battle. Miltiades, with his skilful battle strategies, defeated the Persians
during their second invasion at Marathon, which gave Athens a confidence boost on their military.
During the third invasion, when the Athenians were evacuated to Salamis, Themistocles had
devised a plan to trick the Persians which had resulted in Persian army without a supply line. Sparta
?s importance had revealed during their sacrifice at Thermopylae and at Plataea, where they
provided the most effective part of the army.

Themistocles was aware that the only way to defeat the Persians was to cut of their naval power,
so he devised a plan. He sent a slave to the Persians with a message that they were escaping, and
the Persians sent ships to meet there escapees. The Athenian ships were prepared to face them.
Their specialty in sea battles, along with the narrowness and swirls of the sea gave the Athenians an
advantage. This strategy is what ultimately brought victory to the Greeks, as it left the Persians
without a supply line and weakened their forces. The two events, the battle at Marathon and the
battle at Salamis, showed that Athens was a great contributor to the war, both land and sea.
Sparta was also a contributor to the defeat of the Persians. They were renowned for their great
military strength and discipline on land. This gave fear to everyone who was facing the Spartans.
In the battle at Marathon, the Persians had to attack soon, knowing that if they didn?t, the superior
Spartan warriors would arrive. This fear forced the Persians to hurry their operations, which was
why the cavalry was sent off by ships to attack Athens and allowed the Athenians to win at
Marathon. The battle at Thermopylae was also another contribution to the war. The Spartans, along
with the other Greeks were able to hold off the Persians, but when the enemy found a secret passage
around the mountain, many of the Greeks retreated, except for the

Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes Diabetes mellitus is a syndrome in which carbohydrate and fat metabolism are
impaired by decreased sensitivity or lack of insulin. There are two types of of diabetes; Type 1
also called insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and Type 2 also called non insulin
dependent diabetes (NIDDM). In type 1 diabetes the beta cells of the pancreas do not produce any
insulin. When there is a lack of insulin the cells are unable to utilize the glucose necessary for
energy. In type 2 diabetes the pancreas are still about to produce insulin however, there is a
development of insulin resistance and impaired glucose metabolism. The signs and symptoms of
IDDM and NIDDM are very similar. The symptoms most commonly noted are polyuria, polydipsia,

/diabetes/basics/complications/con 20033091/ states that The longer you have diabetes and the
less controlled your blood sugar the higher the risk of complications. Too much sugar in the
blood can damage the walls of the capillaries that nourish the nerves in places such as the legs.
This can lead to neuropathy which can cause tingling, numbness or burning in the peripheral
extremities. When left untreated all feeling can be lost permanently. Damage to the nerves can
lead to erectile dysfunction in men. The kidneys are also affected by diabetes by destroying the
fragile filtering system. The damage can be so severe that it can lead to renal failure or ESRD.
In order to treat it a person may require dialysis or a kidney transplant. Eyesight can also be
affected be diabetes. It can lead to retinopathy diabetes can damage the blood vessels of the retina

The inclusion of lithium in Reynolds X100 makes sure to block any dislocations within the alloys
crystal structure, giving it an outstanding fatigue resistance.
Reynolds X100 as stated in paragraph one two has a lack of strength compared to steel. The best
way to deal with this is to increase the tubular diameter making it ovular that makes up the bike
frame, hence also making sure that it is very resistant to bending. Though these enlarged and
irregular sections are difficult to design and employ, the added stiffness to the frame is extensive.
Unlike steel, we see that X100 (due to aluminium) has tremendous shock absorption, making the
ride of a Reynolds X100 frame much more comfortable.
X100 is a seemingly average alloy, when it comes to joining it follows this path. To join aluminium
it is naturally difficult to welded, and more complicated difficult processes must be used (inert
gases are required to join members (MIG)).
Conclusively Reynolds X100 is more expensive than steel, due to its large percentage of
aluminium, yet still not greatly expensive. In an ethical sense, the production of these bikes will
not be wasteful, as aluminium is recyclable. It has great weight, very resistant to forms of decay
and resistance to fatigue. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to repair, as the joining methods take
large amounts of time and are very costly.

Psychological Problems And Development Of Childhood...
Introduction The developmental psychopathology approach is the study of psychological problems
and complexities in human development. It focuses on the atypical development of childhood
through to adult life. According to Sroufe and Rutter (1984) it focuses on individual patterns of
adaptation and maladaptation throughout development. This approach is designed to prevent
behavioural and emotional differences within development, whilst positively reinforcing the idea
of typical development. Cases of atypical development can include ADHD, eating disorders,
anxiety and many other developmental disorders that differ from the developmental population
norm. According to Ciccheti (1984) developmental psychopathology must draw upon the results
of many different areas of research: in particular, general developmental psychology, traditional
academic psychology, and also the clinical sciences of psychiatry and clinical psychology (p.1)
This implies that to find the link between typical and atypical behaviour, researchers must draw
upon the social, biological and psychological aspects of a persons life. Cummings et al (2003)
believed that developmental psychopathology is best defined by its primary goal; achieving a
science that could unravel the dynamic process relations underlying pathways of normal
development and the development of psychopathology (p.17) From this it is assumed that this
approach aims to expand the knowledge of developmental disorders that affect the typical

Analysis Of The Centntaur By May Swenson
In May Swenson s poem The Centaur, she talks about a little girl that uses her enormous mind to
imagine herself transforming into a horse. The girl is in a whole new world of her imagination as
she rides through the hills of her backyard. Swenson allows readers to take part in the
transformation from human to horse that the adolescent girldescribed undergoes, thus emphasizing
the importance of childhoodand imagination on the woman s identity and how strong and
intelligent they could be.
In the poem, May uses the Greek mythological creature, the Centaur, as a symbol of the girl
pretending to ride the horse and then became the horse himself. A centaur is a half man half
horse creature. Centaurs are strong creatures they stand for being strong, brave, and they have a
hard identity which reflects the girl s identity of having all these characteristics. Swenson makes
it seem as though the girl herself is a Centaur. Words and phrases like: my hair flopped to the
side like the mane of a horse (line 29 to 30), I shied and skittered and reared (line 33), I was the
horse and the rider (line 38), spanked my own behind (line 40 ), and my two hoofs beat a gallop
along the bank (line 41 to 42 ) . All these symbolize that the girl is imagining being a horse and a
human at the same time like a centaur. At the end when her mother said: why is your mouth all
green ? (line 71 ) it shows how the girl has a very high level of imagination that while she was
imagining to be a horse she

Deception In Much Ado About Nothing
William Shakespeare s comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, features a wide cast of characters
and follows a variety of plotlines that deal with love, loss, deception, and redemption. Within the
scenes of the play, the old adage you don t know what you have got until you lose it is clearly
applicable, especially in the case of Hero and Claudio s lovestory, but this sentiment could surely
be changed to you don t know who you are until you lose it . This changed aphorism could

Comparing Mugshots, Grandma s Kitchen, And Baja Grill
Growing up in the south, food is a very important topic. I enjoy exploring variety of food choices
such as Italian food, Hispanic food, and Asian food. I like to dine out a lot because I am not
always in the mood to cook. My hometown has excellent choices to choose from when it comes
to dinning out. Some of my favorite restaurants are Mugshots, Grandma s Kitchen, and Baja Grill.
Mugshots is one of my favorite burger restaurants. The Will s All American burger is my ultimate
favorite. It includes: two different types of cheese, bacon, scramble eggs, mayo, and ketchup. The
atmosphere of the restaurant favors a sports hall of fame museum. They also serve crafted beer

Drywall Research Paper
There are a few words that cause homeowners to break out in hives and immediately call a
contractor. One of those is drywall. Life gets crazy at times and when it does you house can bear

Leadership Style And Effective Leadership Styles
Group leadership refers to the processes of leading, influencing and motivating members of a
group to become highly competent in achieving the goals or objectives of the group (Aritz and
Robyn 73). Though the adoption and implementation of a relevant and effective leadership style,
group leaders become effective in driving change through work groups and facilitating the
achievement of organizational goals. Leaders play a wide range of roles in leading groups, such as
motivating members, coordinating group activities, influencing positive behaviors among members
and motivating productivity and innovation (Tabernero et al. 1393). The following sections
presents a detailed analysis and discussion of the role of leadershipstyle in group work and the most
important leadership roles in work groups. The paper uses evidence to support the argument that
group leaders must adopt effective leadership styles so that they can be successful in facilitating
group activities and ensuring that members of the group actively contribute towards the
achievement of shared goals (Thompson 23).
Leadership style refers to the specific behavior or characteristics that a leader exhibits in
managing, guiding, directing and motivating a group of people within an organization (Kark and
Dina 504). The leadership style that leader adopt and use to play their roles within a work group
define their ability to inspire change of work behavior among group members. This means that an

Raynauds Disease Essay
Raynaud s Disease
Few people are aware of Raynaud s disease even though it is a fairly common condition.
Raynaulds Disease is also referred to as Raynauld s phenonmenon. Raynaud s is a condition in
which cold temperatures or stress cause blood vessel spasms that block blood flow to fingers,
toes, nose, and ears. This causes these body parts to suddenly turn ice cold and to become a purple
or blue color. Later when the blood flow becomes normal the area turns a reddish color and later
returns to normal. There are two types of Raynaud s Disease, primary Raynaud s disease and
secondary Raynaud s disease. Primary Raynaud s is when a person has no other cause or condition.

seen with a lot of conditions. These conditions include rheumatic diseases such as sclerrodero and

Frostbite and the use of vibrating tools (like a jack hammer) can provoke Raynads. Some
medications such as estrogens, cancer treatments and nicotine can cause Raynauds to onset. Here
are some signs and tests to see if you have Raynaud s or another disease. The doctor will perform
a physical exam, vascular ultrasound, and a cold simulation test. Different blood tests can also be
done but there is no specific blood test that confirms Raynauds. The blood testing is done to
diagnose other conditions typically associated with Raynaulds.

Persuasive Analysis Of Jamaica Kincaid s A Small Place
Persuasive Methods in A Small Place Jamaica Kincaid s influential work of nonfiction A Small
Place (1988) tells how a once beautiful island in the Caribbean has been transformed into a
disgusting holiday resort that is there to only accommodate American and European tourists.
Kincaid seeks to inform the readers about the situation and the history of Antigua, and also to
remind them of the role they played in the downfall of the small island. Although her tone is full of
anger, she does not forget that her first responsibility is to educate. She educates the reader by
making the issues personal to them by communicating clearly, and directly to the reader, without
forgetting to make the reading enjoyable by making them smirk every once in... Show more content

Almost the whole book is written in the second person, making everything that happens more
personal. Using a second person grabs the reader s attention much more effectively than using a
third person would. I believe this is the only way Kincaid thought that the American and British
readers would care about what she has to say; there already exist many books about Caribbean
history during and after the colonization, but people are still ignorant. In the beginning of the first
part of the book, Kincaid describes a tourist s taxi ride from the V. C. Bird International Airport to
their destination, the hotel. Every privileged American or European reader can imagine themselves
in the place of the tourist: you say, Oh, what a marvellous change these bad roads are from the
splendid highways I am used to in North America. (Or, worse, Europe). (Kincaid 5) By making the
reader insert themselves into the story, all the accusations about colonialism and slavery are
swallowed more easily. It is almost as if Kincaid s hand emerged from the pages, grabbed the
reader, and placed them in the backseat of the taxi. As Rhonda Frederick said in her essay: it is
significant to note that Kincaid s writing prevents readers from distancing themselves from the text
and her criticisms; on the contrary, it firmly places readers where Kincaid decides they should be.

Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The leading actors are Daniel Day Lewis as Proctor, Winona

witch hunt which surrounded Massachusetts history. the Crucible starts with a group of young
women sneaking away from their heavily repressed puritan society to engage in some daring
antics for the fun of it. When they get caught in the act, they try to escape punishment by accusing
others of possessing them in the name of the devil. when accusations began piling up, the accused
persons devolved the blame onto others after they had confessed their sins. Things take a turn for
the worst when the religious authority takes hold of the case and began setting up trials for heresy
against those who were accused. In its adoption of the Salem witch hunt trial, the crucible is a
grandiose film filled with powerful emotions brought on by fear, religious zealotry and passion. It
is indeed hundred percent credible and can be used to teach history for generations to come. Arthur

Point Guard Vs Shooting Guard Essay
I m comparing and contrasting two basketball positions, point guard and shooting guard. These
two positions are alike and different in many ways. One way I m focusing on is, what are their
responsibilities? The next thing that I m focusing on is, do these two players work together? The
last thing that I m focusing on is how tall do you have to be for these two positions?
Some people may think that point and shooting guards do the same thing. Most of the things they
do are similar, but there are some differences. One similarity is that, they both have to control the
ball while getting the players to understand the plays. In contrast, one thing that the point guard

They also have to work with the post. On the other hand, shooting guard kind of has to switch
gears because they have to be near the ball, but at the same time be somewhere that they can
shoot. They both have to help so that the ball can get near the basket and so that someone can put
it up. While doing this, the point has to have nice slick passes to get the ball around. When help is
being needed they both have to make sure they re there because their teammates are going to pass
it to one of them. It is exciting but it takes skill for these two positions.
There are really tall people that play basketball, but that is not an requirement. You don t have to
really have height to play these two positions. In comparison, the point and shooting guards are
usually the shortest ones on the team. People also think that the point guard Is the shortest one on
the team. Good news is they don t have to be! On the other hand, shooting guard is the shortest one
on the team. The post are the taller ones that s why they are there to shoot.
What I learned from researching these two positions are that they can be really fun to be on a
basketball team. I also learned that basketball is not easy and it is a physical sport. Basketball is
one of the well known sports and people play it all throughout the country. These similarities and
differences has helped me understand what some positions really

The Civil War Museum Of New Orleans
The Civil War museum located in New Orleans is a very interesting museum to visit. On the
outside the museum stands out from the surrounding building as it has an older brick style
building which almost looks like a church in some aspects.. On the right side of the stairs that lead
up inside is a large cannonon display. Upon entering the museumit is made apparent that the
building is in good condition, but is also very old. Every step that I took while in the museum
sounded as if the floor was about to cave in underneath my feet. I was greeted upon entry to the
museum and I paid my entry fee and was given a sheet of paper with some general information
on the museum. Once leaving the desk I walked along the wall to my left which was covered in
glass cases that contained a multitude of civil war artifacts. The first thing that stood out to me
was a small set of hand carved wooden chess pieces. They were kept in great condition, along
with the bag that held them, aside from one hole in the bag itself. Above the glass cases were
Civil War flags for different regiments with a particular focus on the Louisiana based regiment.

The Sulphur Queen was a 523 foot tanker that was originally intended to carry oil, but was

southeast of New Orleans, La., according to a report by Time Magazine. Then nothing. There
was no SOS and no warning of trouble. The ship simply disappeared. Two weeks later, pieces of a
raft, a life vest and a broken oar washed up on Florida beaches. An investigation launched by the
Coast Guard shortly after the disappearance concluded that the vessel was nowhere near

not? Yes I think it s a real problem in the United States. I think it s a problem because affluenza is

material items do not rule me. The media, movie stars, and my friends and family display

My Strengths And Weaknesses
In today s world, people have become more competitive than before. If a person knows their
strengths, they will be aware of their opportunities as they understand where their security and

source of insecurity, they wok to focus on such areas to overcome challenges posed by the treats.
Strengths
Quality and useful resources are necessary to my success. My resources are not high in quantity,
but the high quality resources are significant. The most valuable resource that I have is my
experience and education. In any job market, these two resources are valuable. The better and more
resources that a person has, the better their chances of outdriving competition and being successful.
However, a resource might have competition that surrounds them. For instance, education is an
important competitive resource because knowledge is crucial for success. The ability of a person
to advance and apply their knowledge and education in the field of personal success is important. I
believe that my biggest strengths are my ability to adapt quickly to the situation and being very
assertive. I ve also shown a great amount of strengths through relationship building encounters.
However, I need to improve my articulation. I am from Haiti and because English isn t my first
language, I tend to have an accent. I am in no way shape or form ashamed of my accent but in the
business industry it is vital to be able to communicate properly. Nonetheless, these strengths and
weaknesses although I am still working on them are the key to my achievements and success.
Potential Strength
My strength is based on my ability to be creative and innovative and keeping an open mind. These
characteristics ensure that I am more efficient and effective compared to the peers and the general
environment. Improving on innovation allows me to stand out in different environments due to the
knowledge intensity quality that exemplifies my abilities and education. Innovation and creativity
enable me to advance in competition and create an upper hand in the industry.

The Legacy of John F. Kennedy Essay
Our Fellow American
The late president John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said, Sure it s a big job; but I don t know
anyone who can do it better than I can ( John F. Kennedy BrainyQuote.com). Kennedy was a
young and fresh political figure at the time of his election in 1960. The thirty fifth president of
the United States was born May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was the youngest
president ever, as well as the first and only Roman Catholic president (Bass, et al.). His
presidency was shortened by an assassin on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy
preceded his presidency with a term in the U.S. House of Representatives (1947 1953) and a term

Kennedy went on, however, to risk his political career for these same rights. In response to an
outburst at the University of Mississippi after the admittance of a black student, the president
said from the oval office on June 11, 1963, It ought to be possible, in short, for every American
to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard to his race or his color. In short, every
American ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish
his children to be treated. Despite Kennedy s assassination shortly after this proclamation, the
Civil Rights Act passed through Congress just weeks later under President Johnson. As JFK
intended, the Civil Rights Act afforded equal rights to whites and blacks alike (Kozak). Kennedy
is remembered for following through on promises made during his campaign. One of Kennedy s
memorable feats in domestic affairs was the advancement of our space program (Armstrong,
Lovell, Cernan). In a 1961 address to Congress he said,
First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is
out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth. No single space project
in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long range
exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish. We propose to
accelerate the development of the appropriate lunar space craft.

denies William s assertion, because the immortal agent would not be pursuing only one interest.

The media is something that can t be taken for granted. It s all around us, everywhere we go it

Kids nowadays know more about the Internet than you could imagine.
Parents should learn to take the time to monitor what their kids go on, take the time to learn
what is appropriate and what is not. Learn how to avoid seeing or sharing violent messages and
images. Knowledge is they key to power. You should always know what s going on in someone
s life, especially if it involves them or anybody else . (Youth Engage 2014) Many parents have no
idea what goes on when their kids go upstairs or go into a different room. Children could be getting
violated or harassed and no one would ever know. So before it happens, think about how much
freedom children should have online.
If you think this stuff doesn t happen it does. Many people think media violence isn t as serious as it
actually is, but in reality this sort of stuff happens all the time. Major news corporations are
widely known for their corrupt stories of major headlines. One major case known by the whole
country is the Trayvon Martin shooting. Martin was a 17 year old African American high school
student who was stopped by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman. Zimmerman
claimed he shot and killed Martin out of self defense. The media took this story and exploded it
into a nationwide topic. They portrayed Trayvon as a young innocent man who looked to do no
wrong doing. They only displayed pictures of Trayvon when he looked young and innocent. They

A Reflection On Memory Malleability
Ariel Susanto
Professor Ilona Pitkanen
Psychology 203
12 March 2017
Memory Malleability Think back to an intense moment in your life. Maybe it s a memory of the
time you thought you were going to die in a car crash. Maybe the excitement of a high school prom
night. Or maybe the time your older sister got married in a beautiful ceremony. To most people,
those memories are striking. The details remain clear in their minds. You ll remember how nervous
you felt at the prospect of a toast, the feel of the uncomfortable formal shoes and attire, the aroma of
roses in the bouquet. Months and even years later, you recount the day minute by minute, bringing
up conversations and events that happened with certainty.
These clear remembrances are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One key aspect to FBM is the confidence attributed by the people with these memories. Although
the recollection is vivid and appears to be a clear picture, the accuracy is surprisingly off. Studies
show that over time, people s confidence in FBM increases while the accuracy decreases. In the
case of the 9/11 attacks, when people were surveyed about what they remembered within ten days,
there were significant inconsistencies. A year after the event, only about 2/3 of what people
remembered was accurate (Krauss, 2015). If people were interviewed a few days after the event
happened, their story would change when asked again the following year, and yet again if
questioned further. An interesting find is that when an incorrect detail is suggested or mentioned in
the retelling of the event, that aspect would be most likely repeated in the next recount. Confidence
correlates negatively with accuracy, although if it s an actual flashbulb memory, the inaccuracies
don t tend to fall below a sixty percent rate (Krauss, 2015).
There are multiple reasons as to why accuracy decreases over time. The simplest explanation is the
concept of working memory. As time passes, the details become less clear. There has been much
debate over the question of whether flashbulb memories are a phenomenon that actually occurs, or
if the memory is only highlighted with emotional trauma. People are

Abstract
Fault tolerance is the characteristic of a system that tolerates the class of failures. It will analysis
the performance and enables a system to continue its intended operation, possibly at a reduced
level, rather than failing completely, when some part of the system fails. The system as a whole
is not stopped due to problems either in the hardware or the software. [1][2] Fault tolerance is
the ability for software to detect and recover from a fault that is happening or has already
happened in either the software or hardware in the system in which the software is running in
order to provide service in accordance with the specification. [3]Fault tolerance is not a solution
unto itself however, and it is important to realize that software fault tolerance is just one piece
necessary to create the next generation of systems. A highly fault tolerance system might continue
at the same level of performance even though one or more components have failed. For example,
a building with a backup electrical generator will provide the same voltage to wall outlets even if
the grid power fails [4].

Abstract A Wireless networkis a dynamic network with large no.of nodes. As the traffic increases
over the network such type of network suffers from the problems like congestion and packet loss.
But in case of P2P network there is one more problem regarding the life of the network. A
network can be affected from some intruder or some broken link over the network As a result some
loss of information occur over the communication. The packet loss is acceptable upto some
threshold value but as there is more packet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Designing a foolproof security for ad hoc network is a challenging task due to its unique
characteristics such as, lack of central authority, frequent topology changes, rapid node mobility,
shared radio channel and limited availability of resources
The wireless networks use air through the operation of a communications protocol. For
synchronization, wireless networks employ a carrier sense protocol similar to the common Ethernet
standard. This protocol enables a group of wireless computers to share the same frequency and
space.
While the term wireless network may technically be used to refer to any type of network that is
wireless, the term is most commonly used to refer to a telecommunications network whose
interconnections between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer
network (which is a type of communications network).
The Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) has been involved in the development
of wireless LAN standards for the last seven years. Finally IEEE has evolved with a version of
standard to be used for wireless networks named as IEEE 802.11 in 1997.
Wireless networks refer to those networks that make use of radio waves or microwaves in order to
establish communication between the devices.

Events from the 1960s
The 1960s is a decade filled with a series of remarkable and significant events that still resonate
today. From the charismatic John F. Kennedy winning the nation s highest office to Vietnam War,
the 1960s was a decade of transformational changes (Whithaus, 2004). Adding to this transformation
were a host of technological breakthroughs.
For the first time in American history a presidential political debate, between John F. Kennedy
and Richard Nixon, was aired on TV. In 1963 Lee Harvey Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby
on camera. Furthermore, in 1965 the first instant replay added a new dimension to sports coverage.
In 1967, all three major network shows were broadcasted in color. Finally, in 1969, television

Today, computers are found everywhere and people rely upon them for travel directions,
entertainment, purchasing products, and social interactions.
I became interested in computers during the early 1990s and it happened right in my house. Within
my community no one really knew what a programmer was or how to become one. At first,
programmers were the engineers the circuits and processors. In April 1990, I volunteered to help
my brother, a Computer Information Systems major at UTPA, to program the IBM 1401. I was 13
years old, had graduated from high school five years later, and decided to study the field of
computers, specifically information technology (IT). In today s high tech world, virtually every
business needs computer networking professionals to set up and maintain an in office network
(Irvine, 2011). This includes a variety of tasks such as engineering the network infrastructure,
administering Windows systems and maintaining an email system (Irvine, 2011).
These jobs were made possible because of the development of computers. Computers provides me
with a variety of career paths, stability, and more importantly higher pay. According to the United
States Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer networking is expected to outpace the
average for all occupations, adding 286,600 new jobs within the decade of 2008 to 2018 (Irvine,
2011). Because of the growing need for

Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have
caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions
years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a
prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have
changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has
reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De
Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime Americanfarmland are lost to
development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is gone forever. The very thing that
humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits
but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive.
What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude
that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are
doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the
climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million acres of agricultural land has been
developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills

Converse College Essay
Converse College is a private college that realized that high tuitions were creating serious problems
for current and potential students to enroll in private colleges. Therefore, Converse was given the
task of motivating middle class students to have the experience of studying in private schools.
CHOICE 1: Reset tuition to a significantly lower price for traditional undergraduate students.
PROS:
Being pioneers in this new business model is an attractive opportunity to stand out from the crowd
as the steady increase in the tuitions in higher educations is a national concern. Therefore, more
students and prospects may be interested in Converse College.
Based on the forecast of increase in tuition fees that Converse College has established, students
could be able to save a considerable amount after a few years. Therefore students would ... Show

PROS:
Certainly, when frizzing student s tuition, they and their families would be sure that their tuition
would not face annual increases.
In addition, this proposal would be attractive to students and cause increased enrollment of middle
class students.
CONS:
A disadvantage is that this proposal is a short term solution to a long term problem. Since the
school has increases in operating costs every year. Therefore, the college has to generate additional
profits to offset these costs.
In addition, future generations would suffer from even higher fees because operating costs would
still require payment. Therefore the cycle of annual tuition increases would start again but now in a
more accelerated manner.
CHOICE 3: Provide students with Loan Repayment Program (LRP), which guarantees that any
student without employment after college would have her loans covered by an insurance policy.
PROS:
This program would alleviate the financial burden for graduate students who have difficulty finding
work and paying their

The World Cup allows countries to display their nationalism in supporting their countries team, but to also show how the game of football is a language that we all speak regardless of your religion, language, political views, and culture. The objectivity of FIFA on picking the location of recent World Cups has brought FIFA and its president Sepp Blatter under heavy criticism. FIFA has specifically been criticized regarding the role of politics in objectively picking each World Cup s location (Plaja, Steffi). Objectively picking a World Cup location requires specific criteria for a location to be considered, some countries just do not have the infrastructure among other criteria to host the World Cup. As a non governmental organization, FIFA is required to hold a political objectivity when choosing the location for each World Cup. Recent allegations of corruption in the location selection process have brought FIFA s highest members under heavy criticism. FIFA s current selection process allows countries who want to host the World Cup to submit bids to FIFA. The bidding process allows for politics to become heavily integrated into the overall selection process (Plaja, Steffi). Allowing countries to bid for the ability to host the World Cup provides some countries with a significant advantage over others to win the bid. FIFA s bidding process has allowed politics ... • 4. Importance Of Peer Pressure In My Life If there is one thing that I ve learned in this life, it would be that friends can pressure you into doing almost anything. That could be taken as a positive, or it could be taken as a negative, which it is in my case. Peer pressure is hard to ignore, and when you re young and naive, you will do anything your friends tell you to do. Being a brainless middle schooler that I once was, I lit a fire in the bathroom. Imagine showing up to the middle school as a scrawny, scared, unintelligent fifth grader. Being a normal kid, I hated having to go to school. What started out to be a normal day, ended up with a friend and I in the principal s office. I thoughtthe day was going to be uneventful, and I wasn t going to learn anything because I didn t like to pay attention in class. Due to that day, I learned a very valuable lesson. Just because your friends are doing it, doesn t mean that it s right or that it is a good idea. Lighting a fire in a small enclosed area is very foolish. For some reason, bathrooms are a place that we as kids enjoyed to hang out and mess around in. That was where we could mess around and talk about absolutely anything and not get into trouble, well at least we thought that anyway. It would ve been fine until one of my friends named Kevin Herndon decided to bring a lighter to school for some odd reason. I m not going to blame the whole incident on him, because I helped worsen the situation, but I do blame most of it on him. If he wouldn t have decided to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Invention Of The Electric Light Bulb Can you ever imagine a world without light bulb? Before light bulb was created, the night can only be lit by the moon and stars. People working and traveling after sunset could only use candles or oil lamps, which caused many inconveniences. Without any bright light, moving inside your own house even seemed dangerous. However, things changed after the ambitious inventors brought their bright idea, which was to light the world, to life. The invention and the commercialization of light bulb not only changed the way people live, but also became a technological breakthrough for future energy use in our daily lives. The electric light bulb has been called the most important invention ever since the discovery of fire. Before eighteenth centuries, there are limited sources of light. The most common artificial light sources for people to use were only candles, oil lamps, and fire. These light sources not only emitted very weak lights, but also produced smokes and awful orders, which made people impossible to work productively after sundown. Many houses at that time period were made of timbers, therefore, having fire or open flame inside the house was hazardous. Once a house caught on fire, the entire neighborhood would be in danger, since there was no running water inside the buildings. Darkness was the epitome of evil. When the sun went down and darkness spread through, the night became the realm of crime. The darkness worked as the perfect cover for thief, murderer, and rapist. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Athens was responsible for the major turning points of the Persian invasions, while Sparta was responsible for the deciding battle. During the third invasion, when the Athenians were evacuated to Salamis, Themistocles had devised a plan to trick the Persians which had resulted in Persian army without a supply line. He sent a slave to the Persians with a message that they were escaping, and the Persians sent ships to meet there escapees. The Athenian ships were prepared to face them. Their specialty in sea battles, along with the narrowness and swirls of the sea gave the Athenians an advantage. This strategy is what ultimately brought victory to the Greeks, as it left the Persians without a supply line and weakened their forces. The two events, the battle at Marathon and the battle at Salamis, showed that Athens was a great contributor to the war, both land and sea. Sparta was also a contributor to the defeat of the Persians. They were renowned for their great military strength and discipline on land. This gave fear to everyone who was facing the Spartans. In the battle at Marathon, the Persians had to attack soon, knowing that if they didn?t, the superior Spartan warriors would arrive. This fear forced the Persians to hurry their operations, which was why the cavalry was sent off by ships to attack Athens and allowed the Athenians to win at Marathon. The inclusion of lithium in Reynolds X100 makes sure to block any dislocations within the alloys crystal structure, giving it an outstanding fatigue resistance. Reynolds X100 as stated in paragraph one two has a lack of strength compared to steel. The best way to deal with this is to increase the tubular diameter making it ovular that makes up the bike frame, hence also making sure that it is very resistant to bending. Though these enlarged and irregular sections are difficult to design and employ, the added stiffness to the frame is extensive. Unlike steel, we see that X100 (due to aluminium) has tremendous shock absorption, making the ride of a Reynolds X100 frame much more comfortable. • 15. Psychological Problems And Development Of Childhood... Introduction The developmental psychopathology approach is the study of psychological problems and complexities in human development. It focuses on the atypical development of childhood through to adult life. According to Sroufe and Rutter (1984) it focuses on individual patterns of adaptation and maladaptation throughout development. This approach is designed to prevent behavioural and emotional differences within development, whilst positively reinforcing the idea of typical development. Cases of atypical development can include ADHD, eating disorders, anxiety and many other developmental disorders that differ from the developmental population norm. According to Ciccheti (1984) developmental psychopathology must draw upon the results of many different areas of research: in particular, general developmental psychology, traditional academic psychology, and also the clinical sciences of psychiatry and clinical psychology (p.1) This implies that to find the link between typical and atypical behaviour, researchers must draw upon the social, biological and psychological aspects of a persons life. Cummings et al (2003) believed that developmental psychopathology is best defined by its primary goal; achieving a science that could unravel the dynamic process relations underlying pathways of normal development and the development of psychopathology (p.17) From this it is assumed that this approach aims to expand the knowledge of developmental disorders that affect the typical ... The girl is in a whole new world of her imagination as she rides through the hills of her backyard. Swenson allows readers to take part in the transformation from human to horse that the adolescent girldescribed undergoes, thus emphasizing the importance of childhoodand imagination on the woman s identity and how strong and intelligent they could be. In the poem, May uses the Greek mythological creature, the Centaur, as a symbol of the girl pretending to ride the horse and then became the horse himself. A centaur is a half man half horse creature. Centaurs are strong creatures they stand for being strong, brave, and they have a hard identity which reflects the girl s identity of having all these characteristics. Swenson makes it seem as though the girl herself is a Centaur. Words and phrases like: my hair flopped to the side like the mane of a horse (line 29 to 30), I shied and skittered and reared (line 33), I was the horse and the rider (line 38), spanked my own behind (line 40 ), and my two hoofs beat a gallop along the bank (line 41 to 42 ) . All these symbolize that the girl is imagining being a horse and a human at the same time like a centaur. At the end when her mother said: why is your mouth all green ? Using a second person grabs the reader s attention much more effectively than using a third person would. I believe this is the only way Kincaid thought that the American and British readers would care about what she has to say; there already exist many books about Caribbean history during and after the colonization, but people are still ignorant. In the beginning of the first part of the book, Kincaid describes a tourist s taxi ride from the V. C. Bird International Airport to their destination, the hotel. Every privileged American or European reader can imagine themselves in the place of the tourist: you say, Oh, what a marvellous change these bad roads are from the splendid highways I am used to in North America. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One key aspect to FBM is the confidence attributed by the people with these memories. Although the recollection is vivid and appears to be a clear picture, the accuracy is surprisingly off. Studies show that over time, people s confidence in FBM increases while the accuracy decreases. In the case of the 9/11 attacks, when people were surveyed about what they remembered within ten days, there were significant inconsistencies. A year after the event, only about 2/3 of what people remembered was accurate (Krauss, 2015). If people were interviewed a few days after the event happened, their story would change when asked again the following year, and yet again if questioned further. An interesting find is that when an incorrect detail is suggested or mentioned in the retelling of the event, that aspect would be most likely repeated in the next recount. Confidence correlates negatively with accuracy, although if it s an actual flashbulb memory, the inaccuracies don t tend to fall below a sixty percent rate (Krauss, 2015). There are multiple reasons as to why accuracy decreases over time. The simplest explanation is the concept of working memory. As time passes, the details become less clear. There has been much debate over the question of whether flashbulb memories are a phenomenon that actually occurs, or if the memory is only highlighted with emotional trauma. People are ... • 43. The Analysis And Fault Tolerence Of Software Environment PERFOMANCE ANALYSIS AND FAULT TOLERENCE OF SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT S. Umamageswri* T. Arulselvam** * Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College, Vridhachalam, Tamilnadu ** Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College, Vridhachalam, Tamilnadu Abstract Fault tolerance is the characteristic of a system that tolerates the class of failures. It will analysis the performance and enables a system to continue its intended operation, possibly at a reduced level, rather than failing completely, when some part of the system fails. The system as a whole is not stopped due to problems either in the hardware or the software. [1][2] Fault tolerance is the ability for software to detect and recover from a fault that is happening or has already happened in either the software or hardware in the system in which the software is running in order to provide service in accordance with the specification. [3]Fault tolerance is not a solution unto itself however, and it is important to realize that software fault tolerance is just one piece necessary to create the next generation of systems. A highly fault tolerance system might continue at the same level of performance even though one or more components have failed. For example, a building with a backup electrical generator will provide the same voltage to wall outlets even if the grid power fails [4]. Keywords: fault tolerance of software, ... Design Of Algorithm For Reliable Packet Delivery Design of Algorithm to perform Reliable Packet Delivery Alka1, Rahul Yadav2 Student, PDM College1 Bahadurgah Haryana alkaashandilya@gmail.com Astt. Prof., PDM College2 Bahadurgah, Haryana RahulYadav.project@gmail.com ? Abstract A Wireless networkis a dynamic network with large no.of nodes. As the traffic increases over the network such type of network suffers from the problems like congestion and packet loss. But in case of P2P network there is one more problem regarding the life of the network. A network can be affected from some intruder or some broken link over the network As a result some loss of information occur over the communication. The packet loss is acceptable upto some threshold value but as there is more packet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Designing a foolproof security for ad hoc network is a challenging task due to its unique characteristics such as, lack of central authority, frequent topology changes, rapid node mobility, shared radio channel and limited availability of resources The wireless networks use air through the operation of a communications protocol. For synchronization, wireless networks employ a carrier sense protocol similar to the common Ethernet standard. This protocol enables a group of wireless computers to share the same frequency and space. While the term wireless network may technically be used to refer to any type of network that is wireless, the term is most commonly used to refer to a telecommunications network whose interconnections between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer network (which is a type of communications network). The Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) has been involved in the development of wireless LAN standards for the last seven years. Finally IEEE has evolved with a version of standard to be used for wireless networks named as IEEE 802.11 in 1997. Wireless networks refer to those networks that make use of radio waves or microwaves in order to establish communication between the devices.

Kennedy winning the nation s highest office to Vietnam War, the 1960s was a decade of transformational changes (Whithaus, 2004). Adding to this transformation were a host of technological breakthroughs. For the first time in American history a presidential political debate, between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, was aired on TV. In 1963 Lee Harvey Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby on camera. Furthermore, in 1965 the first instant replay added a new dimension to sports coverage. In 1967, all three major network shows were broadcasted in color. Finally, in 1969, television televises men on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, computers are found everywhere and people rely upon them for travel directions, entertainment, purchasing products, and social interactions. I became interested in computers during the early 1990s and it happened right in my house. Within my community no one really knew what a programmer was or how to become one. At first, programmers were the engineers the circuits and processors. In April 1990, I volunteered to help my brother, a Computer Information Systems major at UTPA, to program the IBM 1401. I was 13 years old, had graduated from high school five years later, and decided to study the field of computers, specifically information technology (IT). In today s high tech world, virtually every business needs computer networking professionals to set up and maintain an in office network (Irvine, 2011). This includes a variety of tasks such as engineering the network infrastructure, administering Windows systems and maintaining an email system (Irvine, 2011). These jobs were made possible because of the development of computers. Computers provides me with a variety of career paths, stability, and more importantly higher pay. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer networking is expected to outpace the average for all occupations, adding 286,600 new jobs within the decade of 2008 to 2018 (Irvine, 2011). • 48. Environmental Effects On Environment Shavonne Devine Prof. Welsh Eng 1A (6403) 18 Sept. 2017 Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime Americanfarmland are lost to development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is gone forever. The very thing that humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive. What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million acres of agricultural land has been developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills ... In addition, this proposal would be attractive to students and cause increased enrollment of middle class students. CONS: A disadvantage is that this proposal is a short term solution to a long term problem. Since the school has increases in operating costs every year. Therefore, the college has to generate additional profits to offset these costs. In addition, future generations would suffer from even higher fees because operating costs would still require payment. Therefore the cycle of annual tuition increases would start again but now in a more accelerated manner.
