Rajshahi Division consists of 8 districts in Bangladesh and has a total population of over 18 million based on 2011 census data. The division covers an area of 18,174 square kilometers. Major cities include Rajshahi, Bogra, and Pabna. Deposits in banks in the division were analyzed from September 2008 to June 2011, with total deposits increasing over that period from under 10 million to over 15.5 million and urban deposits being consistently higher than rural deposits. Rajshahi District consistently had the highest deposits while Jaypurhat District usually had the lowest.
