Degrees of comparison are
used when we describe or
compare persons or things.
1. Positive Degree
• This is used for when we
only describe person or
thing.
•The house is big.
Example
2. Comparative Degree
•This is used when we
compare two people or
things to each other.
Example
• The house is bigger than my house.
Big Bigger
3. Superlative degree
Used when comparing more than
two people or things. “The” will be
used before the superlative degree.
Add –est in the positive degree to
make it superlative.
