1. Death Nest
A Synopsis by Gervas Mahimbi
Death Nest is a Swahili 60 minutes feature film about Chris, a college student who caught in
middle of two people running from their past. One is mysterious girlfriend Winnie and other is
family friend and Chris’s boss Kamuhanda.
The film starts by Chris meeting Winnie in middle of night when Chris is out looking for his
divorced alcoholic mother. Winnie is running from some young rich boys. Chris saves Winnie and
help her escape from her would be captors.
Chris and Winnie meet again in few days’ time and start dating. One weekend, Chris’s father who
now lives with his new girlfriend, asks Chris to stay with their new house as him and Chris’s
stepmother goes to see their other house out of town.
Chris and Winnie spend the weekend together. When returning home Winnie is struck to see that
her friends had been arrested and she has nowhere to go. She go and stay with other friend. She
has no contact with Chris.
Chris is looking for her, when Kamuhanda asks him to renovate his old house in woods as there
are some bad people looking for him. Chris hears a rumor from his coworker that Boss want to
use it as love nest, to spend time with his mistresses.
Winnie finds a onetime babysitting job in Kamuhanda’s house without Chris’s knowledge. Nobody
knows about her affair with Chris. She also does not know that Kamuhanda is Chris’s boss. After
staying with his family, Kamuhanda asks her to help clean his secret house which was renovated
by Chris in the woods. Unfortunately, Chris see them together, and he became furious thinking
Winnie is cheating with his boss.
To make the matters worse, Chris confronts his boss indirect asking his true intentions with the
country house, Kamuhanda becomes mad and leaves Chris long way from home and let him walk.
Meanwhile, a new guy comes to the town, he pursue Chris to tell him about his boss. He tells him
that his boss has ties with terrorists groups. Due to his anger towards his boss, Chris tells him
where his boss’s secret lair is, and help him by calling Kamuhanda and lure him into that house.
Winnie also goes to the woods. Chris find out that a guy he directed to the country house is not
a police officer as he claimed, he real wanted to harm Kamuhanda. In those woods we find out
this guys is actually Jenny’s thug step father who Jenny was running from, and he was also
Kamuhanda’s partner in crime back in the days.
Chris runs to the woods, to reach there he finds out Kamuhanda is killed and the new guy try to
kill Jenny too. Chris helps Jenny and kill Mayanga. Chris and Jenny survives and lives happily ever
after.
