A film Synopsis by Gervas Mahimbi
Uriah is a Swahili one hour TV movie feature about a couple Uriah and her fiancé Oscar
who enter their relationship in pranked scene and solve the greatest challenge in their
relationship in another careful planned prank.
The film starts by the last scene, in a women saloon, a bride is being prepared for the
wedding ceremony. Unknown guy (Oscar) appears and try to force his way into saloon
to discuss some matters with a bride. A bride's best friend (Magreth) tries to stop him,
blaming him for his previous actions he did to bride. It appears Oscar is Uriah's ex-
boyfriend.
Then we are introduced to their past lives. How they met in a supermarket where
everything was good to both of them until Magreth appears from the same shop Oscar
came from. She remembers him that they had a misunderstanding and argument few
minutes ago, inside shop. Oscar leaves without Uriah's contacts despite his endless
wish and struggle to get them.
One day, while cruising in his fancy car, Oscar saw Uriah and Magreth coming from one
house, he follows them up to Matatu stand and loose them without talking to Uriah,
gain. But now at least he knows where Uriah lives. Oscar discuss his situation with his
best friend. They plan to trick Uriah to fall into his arms.
One day night, two young men attacks Uriah at night trying to rob and probably rape
her. Oscar happens to be around, he helps her and they become friends then lovers.
One day when they are at restaurant, the boys Oscar send to attack Uriah are in the
same restaurant, they false him to pay for their bills or else they will tell Uriah the truth
that he sent them to attack her so he can save her. Oscar had no choice but to oblige.
Uriah and Oscar tend to do some crazy thing together in Oscar's home as most lovers
do. Oscar is seen as a romantic guy, with true care for her.
One day, as soon as Uriah leaves Oscar's home, unknown beautiful girl named Melissa
comes into play. She is Oscar Ex who broke up with him in the past. She threatens to
give edited pictures showing that they are in relationship while Oscar is with Uriah,
unless he accepts to spend two days with her.
At first Oscar is reluctant and then he accepts he sent her away. For unknown reasons,
she is determined to spend the time with him. She comes back later that day with a bag
and since Uriah was around, Oscar is forced to play along with Mellisa’s scheme who
was introduced to Uriah as Oscar’s step sister. S they live together, Oscar spend every
opportunity he gets to try get rid of Mellissa, who is surprisingly helping Oscar in
preparation of different surprises for his fiancé Uriah.
2. One day, Uriah finds out that Melissa and Oscar are not brother and sister. She is mad
and decide to leave. Oscar try hard to find her, but fails. One month later, he just heard
that she is getting married to another guy. He decides to try to talk to her just before
marriage, in the saloon.
He went there, and he finds out it was just a prank. There was no marriage, Melissa
tracked down Uriah and explained to her that she was diagnosed with cancer, she was
dying and forced Oscar to spend some time with her. Together they decided to arrange
non-existing marriage to flush him back and to get back to him for using trick to start
relationship.
