Geert martens - How to win in the age of the customer?Sanoma Belgium
The document discusses how businesses can win in the age of the customer by focusing on emotional customer engagement, superior customer experiences, and long-term business value. It recommends that companies be deliberate, emotional and consistent in their interactions with customers across all channels and throughout the customer lifecycle in order to create loyal customers who will pay more, buy more, stay loyal and forgive mistakes.
This document discusses ROMI 2, a new scoring system that analyzes digital touchpoints in relation to a brand's marketing efforts and customer journey. It measures Outbound, Inbound, and Opportunity to Convert touches to calculate a ROMI 2 score. A higher score indicates more optimized digital channels and improved ability to engage customers throughout their journey. The document suggests calculating sample client brands' OTC scores to demonstrate ROMI 2's effectiveness in benchmarking marketing performance.
Print advertising works within 0.3 seconds as the brain quickly responds to ads in magazines. Ads that are highly liked elicit stronger brain responses, and brand awareness also impacts the brain's reaction. A study found magazines and newspapers deliver the highest return on investment of various media, as targeting and internal pacing increase their advertising effects. International studies similarly show magazines can generate high ROI, especially for targeted campaigns.
According to a 2016 Living Styles Monitor survey, interior design and home decoration remained important to many people, with 76% attaching great importance to how they design their homes and 68% recently changing or planning to change the design of one of their rooms. The most popular overall interior styles were contemporary classic (38%), contemporary modern (32%), and eclectic (21%), while the top five substyles were Long Island, Warm & Cosy, Dutch Chic, Deco Style, and Sober Rural. The survey also found that eclecticism was rising, with 64% saying they liked more than three substyles, and more home and decor magazines being purchased.
1) The document outlines a 3-phase product testing process: a 1-week recruitment phase using website teasers and newsletters to recruit testers, followed by a testing period where testers receive the product and a survey is sent, and finally results are published online using content pages and infographics and in print with a 1/1 advertorial page.
2) Phase 1 involves recruiting testers through teasers on websites and in newsletters over 1 week.
3) Phase 2 is the testing period where testers receive the product and complete a survey of up to 10 questions from the client, followed by publishing results online and in print.

Creative formulas in a magazine are ads that diverge from standard ad pages.
They can come in all forms. From a folder or glued sample to a cover ribbon or chalk paper.
Media Connections Study - Magazines CanadaSanoma Belgium
The document summarizes key findings from the Magazines Canada Media Connections Study, which surveyed 3,000 Canadian consumers about their media habits and the role of advertising in purchase decisions. The study found that:
1) Magazine advertising is most effective at reaching influential consumers and early adopters for new products.
2) Consumers pay more attention to and have more trust in magazine advertising compared to other media like TV, radio, or online.
3) Magazine advertising has the strongest impact on consumers' purchase decisions relative to the amount of money spent on different media channels, making it an efficient choice for marketers.
Lucas Hulsebos - How Paid, Owned and Earned Media Work TogetherSanoma Belgium
1. Paid and owned media have the strongest impact on brand metrics when used together. Adding earned media does not further increase effects and may decrease them if earned media is negative.
2. Earned media primarily influences awareness and choice, while paid and owned media more strongly impact brand image and associations. Positive earned media maintains campaign impact while negative earned media reduces it.
3. Consumers prefer magazines and television for credible, useful information over social media. They value brands that inform well through owned channels and paid advertising with a clear message over brands that are simply active on social media.
Annet Aris - New rules of game in the digital worldSanoma Belgium
The document discusses new rules for strategic planning in the digital world. It argues that traditional strategic approaches do not work due to high levels of uncertainty from technological changes. Network effects allow new entrants like Google and Facebook to capture value. Industries are shifting to more competitive oligopolies and functional monopolies. The media industry needs to move from reactive to strategic capability building through experimentation and learning. Portfolios of initiatives like big bets, options, and no-regret moves help deal with uncertainty. Management must create agile, learning organizations.
The Print Campaign Analysis by Millward Brown DigitalSanoma Belgium
The Print Campaign Analysis, a “meta-analysis “ conducted by Millward Brown, an authority in the assessment
of advertising impact, examined nearly 100 ad effectiveness studies that the advertisers themselves had
originally commissioned. Millward Brown’s report finds that print advertising results in the greatest increases
in persuasion metrics—brand favorability and purchase intent—compared to other platforms. These
advertiser-generated data also reveal that when advertisers used print magazine in combination with other
platforms, they were most successful in raising outcome metrics, leading to the conclusion that digital
platforms work best when they are connected to powerful traditional media, such as print.
Sylvie Dewaele - Storytelling vs. StorydoingSanoma Belgium
The document discusses the difference between storytelling and storydoing. Storytelling involves using stories as a tactic or strategy to communicate a purpose, drive relevance, and achieve ambitions. Storydoing involves turning storytelling into real world actions and results through three levels: communications, products/services, and the underlying business. Effective storytelling is purpose driven and leads to storydoing across multiple levels of an organization to inspire change.
- The document analyzes smartphone and tablet penetration and usage in Belgium based on a survey conducted in February 2016.
- Key findings include that smartphone penetration is around 53% in Belgium, with higher rates for men, younger people, and higher social groups. Samsung and Android are the most popular brands.
- Tablet penetration is around 38% in northern Belgium and 29% in southern Belgium, with higher usage among younger people and higher social groups. The iPad has over 50% market share in northern Belgium.
- Both smartphones and tablets are mostly used daily, with internet mostly accessed via subscriptions on smartphones.

The document discusses how innovation is happening everywhere at high speeds, with changes occurring last year serving as a tipping point. It advises companies to look for the next 100 small innovations rather than one big thing. The key question companies should ask is why they are using customer data, and that data-driven innovation can work in even the most boring industries.
This document discusses social media literacy and strategies for learning on social platforms. It begins with a poll asking about levels of social media engagement. It then addresses how social media represents a paradigm shift in communication. The document suggests taking a layered approach to social media literacy and positioning learning through reading, hearing, seeing, discussing with others, doing, and explaining to others. It poses poll questions about the most important positions in organizations and whether balance is important. It concludes by offering strategies for utilizing social media and inviting users to help with learning.
Jan denys - Change in the labor market, myth vs realitySanoma Belgium
The document discusses changes on the labor market between myth and reality. While careers were traditionally seen as linear paths with established roles, the modern labor market is more flexible and dynamic. Younger generations value different aspects of work than the past. While technology is disrupting some sectors and skills, it is also creating new opportunities. Overall, the labor market is shifting from permanent, standardized jobs to greater mobility, diversity of skills, and shared responsibility between employers and employees to manage frequent changes.
Jan Van den Bergh - The Recommender RevolutionSanoma Belgium
1. The document discusses the importance of identifying "brand recommenders", who directly influence 20-50% of purchase decisions, as the most important asset for a company.
2. It emphasizes moving beyond traditional RFM customer segmentation to also measure customers' recommendation power using metrics like likelihood to recommend on a scale.
3. The author argues companies should take a non-customer centric approach and look outward through the "window" to understand competitors and influencers in their market instead of inward self-analysis.
DAVID
Allez, heel even dan.
DAVID
Beloningen of rewards
YOURI
Zo’n variant van milestones zijn bv
Experience points (XP) of ervaringspunten
[Speed Lottery experiment in Zweden, Kopenhagen
Prijzenpot = alle boetes samen
Resultaat: 25% minder overtredingen tijdens experiment
Made to Stick van Chip en Dan Heath
Gaat net als Made to Stick veel verder dan gamification.
