David Dehaven - Developing leadership style for an effective outcome
Introduction
Leadership is taken to be one of the major traits that is having effectiveness for producing
maximised efficiency regarding the achievement of organisational goals along with enhancing
self sustainability. Favouring such context, the following content would be in relevance of
procuring leadership traits along with doing its analysis.
The leadership behaviour would be justified over the chosen intern within the Lorna Jane retail
organisation for producing effective leadership qualities when on fields. Hence the problem
statement would be in accordance of the leadership management aspect with procurement
issue analysis along with procuring further recommendations against it. There would also be
produced a fare conclusion over the entire content in this leadership development plan
assignment.
Findings and analysis
1. Leadership self insight quiz outcomes
Ethical maturity
As for ethical maturity discussed in this leadership development plan assignment, there are
available insights favouring the leadership quizzes. From solving the quiz, it was evident that I
am more of a producer of clear view of the my plans along with have revival of my own
mistakes.
This is suggestive of me having ethical behaviour with clear intentions of showcasing my
opinions. It was found that I am more of a "quick forgiver and forgetter" against any serious
issue along with use longer time for assessing the values. This is indicative of self evaluation
being necessary to chalk out positive or negative possibilities of any event.
From above section of leadership development plan assignment, there are found strengths
signs regarding better situation management along with precise steps for further situation
evaluation. The weaknesses found are regarding frequent blames over others, with self-inability
to produce forgiveness against any serious mistake. Against such, there are opportunities such
as maximising the trait of self mistake analysi for gaining the event insights and to procure
proper decision.
Emotional intelligence
Concerning self intelligence factors, there are available some of the key strengths along with
minor weaknesses. There are found traits of producing various psychological cures agonist
various sort of emotions along with knowledge of anger situations.
There are also found traits of being experienced with mood swings but not having knowledge of
situations triggering defensive nature. Favouring such, self awareness is reflected majorly while
weakens for risk assessment. For the self management, there are positive answers from quiz
entailing better analysis of pressure situations along with staying calm when required. There
are also indications of strengths regarding proper actions procurement against words.
Social awareness is also seen positive through quiz analysis by maintaining proper intimacy with
others along with catering their emotions and situation with proper understanding. The
emotional intelligence field stays clear through strengths of properly avoiding conflicts and
producing appreciable reflections over other's emotions. The major weakness are found to be
having improper agreements and with uncontrollably triggering defensive nature.
Handling of team conflict
Consulting to that of conflict management, there are seen the five major traits namely
collaboration, dominations, accommodations, avoids and compromisation. Form the quiz there
are found strengthening traits majorly over the collaboration and that of accommodation trait.
For such, I am found with disagreement for playing with other's feelings along with agreeing on
facts even being in an argument with opposition. Apart from such, there are also seen traits
from my side regarding me not neglecting others opinions and giving them the chance for
producing their viewpoint. There are seen to be the positive traits that can be taken in form of
strengths for handling any sort of team conflicts.
The weaknesses mainly comprise within the domination trait along with avoiding and
compromising natures. Compromisation is seen with partial outcome with both positive and
negative outcomes. For management over domination along with avoiding traits, there can be
entailed the opportunity of procuring emotional-characteristics training programs for the
enhancement of controlling nature along with gaining insights about others opinion in order to
procure any major step.
Change leadership
The existing strengths of mine regarding the change leadership showcasing can be taken
through showcasing of adaptability concerns when in different situations. For such, there are
positive outcomes regarding adoption of improved strategies for self easiness along with for
others within same workplace in concern.
Regarding the procurement of change within the workplace, I also showcased the strengths for
enacting to non hampering of organisational rules or policies and enacting counter effective
strategies that might produce negative outcomes. I was also with the strength of providing
constructive strategies for my organisation for enhancing the operative management. The
positive outcomes indicated the traits as my strengths.
Apart from the strengths there were found negative through my provision of solutions that
might suppress the issue rather than solving it. For such, there can be hindrances within the
productivity as the suppressed issue might be with possibility to reoccur in intense situations.
2. Summary of key weakness and strength
The key weakness that are found from above analysis of quiz are within minor level inculcating
within all the present portions namely change leadership, handling of team conflict, emotional
intelligence and ethical maturity.
The negative constraints were regarding suppressing attitude for organisational issues,
domination and avoiding traits, improper agreement with triggering of defensive nature and
frequent blaming over other employees or worker. Through such, there stays a gap highlighting
the maturity factor. Surpassing the blames over other, with congestive solutions for
suppressing the issues, can cater negative productive along with internal conflicts.
Further, sudden triggering of defensive nature might change the perspective of the one
standing in front hampering the business interrelationships. Dominating and issue avoiding are
seen to be effective for diminishing the business relationships with other and triggering internal
hatred against the management authority.
For such, the factor stay competent to disrupt organizational ethics along with disrupts the
positive communication. Moving to the strengths, there are seen availabilities in plenty. There
are strengths of maintaining collaboration and accommodation along with management of
social awareness with clear intentions to provide self insights and opinions for any sort of
organisational improvisation.
The strengths were effective to provide me the capability for managing diverse cases with
eases. Along with such, there are evidences of providing the self insights that is effective to
produce a clear insight of my knowledge regarding the organisational management.
Through such, there are staying the factors of organisational development along with having
consistency with the work values that are effective to maintain the work-life balance for me
along with other individuals. Apart from such, there do exist the factors for managing situations
that might procure anger from the opposition. Through such, any sort of unscrupulous activity
can be put to an end hence avoiding any conflict.
3. External source of information for the leadership quality
Reliance over self evaluation would only be effective to chalk out the self perception and not
over other's perspective. For such, external sources can be used to gain their opinion regarding
leadership styles, and major improvement areas even after making self analysis. Major
concerns can be taken through casual conversations along with informal interviews and
performance evaluation for previous scales.
Casual conversations
Casual conversations are one of the best ways to have a clear insight for having employee
perceptions. Through such, the factor stays effective to get hold of internal insights and
attributes of organisational employee and staffs. For such, there can be taken integral steps for
mitigating such factor. Apart from such, there can be entailed employee viewpoint regarding
the progress of organisational and valuable changes to be made in order to have sufficient
employee support.
Informal interviews
Similar to casual information's, informal interviews can be taken to get hold of interviewee
aspects for managing the factors for insider information gaining along with entailing a stress
free environment. Apart from such, there can be strengthening of the relationships within the
employee and other staffs for having better productivity within future prospects.
Previous performance evaluation
Previous records would be useful for producing the facts and issues that might have their
occurrence in present context. Through reviewing such, evidence can be gained regarding
factors that hinder my productivity within previous stages of work.Through such, I would be
able to pertain more cautions while undertaking management with keeping in mind the issues
occurred in previous cases. Through such, I would be able to mitigate the issues through a more
concise approach.
4. Vision for the development of leadership
Being a member of management board, I have observed in this Management assignment that I
aspire to showcase ethics along with collaborativeness and continuous learning behaviour in
order to maintain a fruitful and effective organizational environment and to cater the
requirements of my organisational employees for having better efficiency and productivity.
5. Specification of developmental objectives
Few of the objectives for having an effective leadership management and to have positive
organisational growth aspects are mentioned below;
● To have limited strategies and defined tactics, so as to produce more concise and proficient
outcome rather than jumbling up within multiple strategies implications, ending up to loss of
productivity.
● To have development of value and principles within the organisation for having cultural
management along with improvisation of culture management so as to have an effective work
environment.
● To enact suitable motivation strategy or theoretical approach for having effectiveness of
employees and to have their positive attitude towards their assigned jobs, favouring which the
mission and that of vision can be accomplished through a faster pace.
● To establish frequent communication with the workers along with have suitable trainings for
them so as to develop their insights regarding their work and to give them a clear view of
organizational goal.
6. Resource requirement for plan implementation
Assistance from primary authority
Primary assistance can be concerned as one of the major resources for catering the set
objectives as hey are equipped already with the experience and knowledge of handling
organizational management aspects. Through such, there can be taken guidance's regarding the
achievement of set goals along with over any sort of mistakes and faults.
Time for action implementation
Suitable time duration can be implemented for the management of objectives set. Apart from
just setting the time duration for the events, there can be taken the consideration of sneak
peeks within the working module and making suitable notes. Through such, the applicability of
strategies of motivation, or that of tactics, can be procured that would be effective to comply
with further actions against it. Hence the time frame can be altered in accordance to the
performance level by virtue of strategies enacted.
Funds consideration with having guidance materials
Funds are one of the major resources to cater majority of implementations. For the enactment
of specialised training, funds are important to cater payments for the specialists. Apart from
such, any sort of technological implementation would require capital for its installation along
with charges for their operators. I would also concern the guidance materials resource such as
books or manuals, so as to other additional information for implementation of leadership plan.
6.1. Mechanism for achieving the feedback favoring leadership
Feedback from peers
Feedback from peers would benefit me to get hold of their aspects regarding the proper
applicability of procured strategies over the employees along with their effectiveness
measurement. Apart from such, they can cater me to provide insights regarding any offtracking
activities (if any) that might be with responsibility to hamper the work productivity.
Feedback from employees
Employee feedbacks are the most important as they are the ones over whom the
experimentation would be done. Their productive replies would indicate the success of my
strategy implication while lesser feedbacks would procure lesser or no applicability of the
strategies. It would also indicate the employee demands concerning my presence within the
workfield for procuring proper guidance .
Productivity outcome
Productivity outcome stays the most important aspect for providing judgement over my
leadership styles and capabilities. Any sort of productive outcome would indicate the success of
my strategies and my leadership style, failure to which would procure reverse outcome. Apart
from such, employee satisfaction would also be indicative for the success of the leadership
strategy implication.
6.3. Recommendations for revising plan
After reviewing of the developmental plan and my trial actions in this Management assignment,
few recommendations were given from my hierarchy to improvise leadership plan;
Having a clear vision
According to my catering of vision mission and many objectives, there were recommendations
for having fixed objectives to be catered one at a time against any existent external or internal
factor.Through such, I would be able to have proper insights for procuring my leadership
strategy favouring my plan.
Positive attitude
In relevance to my personality test, for putting blames over others on a frequent basis, there
were recommendations for the maintaining positive attitude with having proper understanding
of customer/employee matter.
Non-neglecting any minor factor
With relevance of me to stray away from issue concerns, there were recommendations for
undertaking help from peers in order to have full insights for my plan of leadership along with
having made suitable changes within the plan favouring such aspect.
Conclusion
From the above content of this Management assignment, various conclusions can be derived.
From the quiz analysis, there can be obtained the strengths on a major level with favourable
amount of minor negative constraints to hinder the leadership strategy. Apart from such, the
SMART objective management was effective to produce the insights of strategic approach along
with their time frame and relevance for producing a detailed planning prospect.
There were also produced suitable resources that were important for catering the strategy
management requirement such as fundings or peers insights. Further a few recommendations
were procured from the peers side or managing any sort of delusional activities. For such, there
were sufficient insights in this Management assignment that would help the intern for catering
to best possible solution in order to showcase proper leadership aspect.
