About Us
At the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (the Centre) we provide quality
information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers.
Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical
standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation and support health
research. We support the regional health authorities, as well as the patients and communities
they serve, in the delivery of information technology (IT) and eHealth services applied in the
healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate also includes the development and
implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other
provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support
adoption by end user clinicians.
About the Role
We are currently looking for a temporary, full-time Data Integrity Specialist to maintain the
integrity of the data within the Client Registry (CR) database and other systems ensuring the
completeness, consistency, and accuracy of the provincial Client Registry and other systems. In
this position you will be responsible for:
 Provincial registration and record management support of the Client Registry and other
systems ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity.
 Ensuring the Client Registry has the most recent patient demographic data in the CR
Systems ‘default view’.
 Communicating with and supporting Regional Health Authorities (RHA) and other CR
stakeholders regarding different CR matters (i.e., accuracy, confirmation of data, etc.)
 Working closely with NL Pharmacy Program to ensure patient profiles are accurate and
patient safety risks are mitigated quickly. (i.e., on-call escalation procedures)
 Assisting the RHAs and other CR stakeholders in resolving data anomalies by answering
questions and verifying information through analysis and/or other outside parties (i.e.,
Vital Statistics, MCP)
 Monitoring stakeholder compliance to provincial standards.
Data Integrity Specialist
Temporary, Full-time for One Year
 Reporting data quality issues to internal stakeholders using the corporate ticketing
system.
 Collaborating with Technical Applications Team in the resolution of data related issues.
 Ensure accuracy of all records in the Client Registry by identifying and performing
appropriate follow up on incomplete records and incorrect data fields.
 Verifying existing data through regular audit processes on a daily and monthly basis.
 Ensuring all users are educated on the acceptable use, confidentiality, and privacy of the
Client Registry.
 Working on-call as part of a scheduled rotation and adhere to the Service Level
Agreements in place for the Client Registry as it relates to the Data Management aspect
of the CR.
About You
Your education and experience include:
 Diploma in a recognized Health Information Management program
 Minimum of two years’ experience in the Health Information Management or client
registration field
 Minimum of two years’ experience with common software applications such as MS Office
You have the following skills and abilities:

and exchange of information.

 Commitment to providing quality service in the provision of health information.
 Detailed knowledge of Client Registry software such as Initiate and various functions.
 Knowledge of registration and record management practices of healthcare
settings/facilities.
 Knowledge of database management theory and software.
 Knowledge of health care environment.
 Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.

About You Your education and experience include:  Diploma in a recognized Health Information Management program  Minimum of two years’ experience in the Health Information Management or client registration field  Minimum of two years’ experience with common software applications such as MS Office You have the following skills and abilities:  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Excellent analytical skills.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.  Ability to build positive client/stakeholder and peer networks to facilitate the collection and exchange of information.  Commitment to principles of privacy, confidentiality, and access.  Good time management and organizational skills.  Commitment to providing quality service in the provision of health information.  Detailed knowledge of Client Registry software such as Initiate and various functions.  Knowledge of registration and record management practices of healthcare settings/facilities.  Knowledge of database management theory and software.  Knowledge of health care environment.  Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
