8. MY JOB
My job is to draw the areas that will eventually be carpeted.
As seen on my plans the 1st floor of the Ritz
Carlton consists of; 2 large rugs, 4 hallways, 1
large ballroom, 1 small ballroom and a gallery
room.
15. PROBLEMS
Something very small can cause one the biggest grief. This set of steps had
me very troubled and in a dilemma. (Resolution seen on plans.) Explain why.

16. PROBLEMS
In the small ballroom of The Ritz Carlton a divider wall was put up at the
time of my site measure. This ended up slightly throwing my plans off.
17. 2ND FLOOR
The 2nd floor of the Ritz Carlton
consists of a very intricate set of stairs,
1 long hallway, 1 elevator lobby and 9
meeting rooms.
19. PROBLEMS
The stairs were a big problem for me because
of the way that they are shaped.
You can see on my plans how I drew the stairs
separately from the main plan and inserted all
of the dimensions of each step into them.
20. PROBLEMS
The stairs from the first floor are wide and have
railings that get narrower as you go up. Because
of the angles of the railings each step has a
different measurement.(RTP)
21. PROBLEMS
Going back to the gallery room where I used the notation 4” Riser, I also had
to use the same notation on these stairs. If it wasn’t for my Project Facilitator
Johnny Massey I would not have known to do this.

22. PROJECT FACILITATOR
My Project Facilitator is Johnny Massey and I chose him because
he is head of operations at Brintons Carpets USA.
He has lots of experience and has a great
knowledge of the carpet industry.
23. RESEARCH PAPER
At the start of this year I wrote a research
paper about the carpet industry, this relates
to my product because……………………..
24. CARPET INDUSTRY
From my research paper I learned that the commercial carpet industry belongs
to three main powerhouses; Brintons, Tai Ping and Constantine.
25. BRINTONS
Brintons Carpets is a firm that was formed in my home town of
Kidderminster.
They are the world leaders in carpet manufacturing with factories all over the
world.
