For over 25 years, I have worked in various international architectural and design studios as a Workplace
and Lifestyle Environment consultant and more recently as collaborative owner and Executive Director at
Dfactor Consulting Co.Ltd ., located in Shanghai, China.
Having started my career in Sydney and graduating with High Commendation award for 1988 DIA
Australian National Design Awards, I joined Tulio Bogatai (FDIA) for 3 years as Assistant to the Directors
of Perumal Bogatai & Partners (Architects and Planners).
In 1992, having extensively travelled and working overseas, I relocated to Singapore for 2 years working
with Ronald Adrianse Associates, providing high-end corporate interiors for MNC setting up in Asia before
returning to Sydney in 1994.
In 1994, i returned to Australia and was employed by Cox/Hilliers Architects as Design Manager for the
Temporary Casino and subsequently, as ID Director for Star Casino Sydney.
My primary role was to co-ordinate interior design elements of the overall complex, with personal
involvement in the design of Lyric and Showroom theatres with David Katon from BKH and theming
consultants "Land Mark Entertainment Group(US)" for concepts for the Main gaming areas and Bars.
Following this I continued working with Cox Architects - (Phillip Cox AO), with opportunities for my
involvement on many large infrastructure projects including the 2000 Sydney Olympic Indoor
Stadium and extension works to the existing Sydney Maritime Museum.
In 1998, I relocated back to Singapore for a regional position , managing MNC clients in China, Malaysia,
Hong Kong, Philippines and Indonesia.
Since 2006 I have been based in Shanghai, China, managing the Shanghai branch for ADI (China)
whereby my primary focus was on new retail and workplace concepts, strategic planning, programming
of design and project management of key MNC accounts in China.
In 2013 as a co-founder of Dfactor Architectural Consulting Co. in Shanghai I managed a design team for
large scale lifestyle and hospitality projects including Genting Alpine Resort apartments in Chongli,
Gubei W town Ski resort and Amara Hotel in Shanghai. Other projects include luxury retail for shopping
malls, rollout of retail outlets for UnderArmour and various technology, call centres and international
corporate banking.
Since 2010 I have a regular invitation to attend and provide talks for design workshops and
presentations at the Fudan University, Shanghai, China, on subjects including Sustainable Workplace
Design / Strategies and Cultural understanding of Corporate Design and Environmental Design.

Partner / Leader for the design department with dynamic team of designers, architects, project managers, graphic design
team for medium to large-scale projects in Hospitality, Entertainment, Financial, Consumer, Technology, F&B and Retail
in various locations throughout China and Asia.
Responsible for overall Day to day design operations, Business strategy and development, Profitability, Design
Proposals including Technical and commercial components, HR and Team building.

Engaged as Workplace and Interior Design Consultant to provide full Design Services incl. M&E and Construction
Management for 1,200sm office in Beijing.
We provided new workplace concepts ,strategic planning, construction drawings, FF&E and Visual Branding and Props
for mobile technology gaming and animation company.
Sustainable concepts were provided for lighting, AC, and water saving to maximise resources and cost savings for the
lease term.
2014 - Sykes Call Centres
Engaged as Workplace and Interior Design Consultant to provide full design services and construction management for
6,500 headquarter re-stack in Shanghai and 2,000sm expansion in Changshu.
We provided new workplace concepts ,strategic planning, construction drawings, FF&E and acoustic solutions for 24/7
Call Centre facilities. We developed new concepts to improve business operations and effectively reduce sound levels
through-out the facility.
Sustainable concepts were provided for lighting, AC, and water saving to maximise resources and cost savings for the
lease term.
2013 - Gubei W Town Ski resort
Engaged as Architects, Structural engineering, MEP and Landscape Consultant to co- ordinate concept design for a
3000 visitor/day ski park and lodge facility.
We provided full master planning through to construction drawings for the complete design for the mountain resort
including landscape to accommodate beginner to intermediate levels of snow skiing abilities.
Design the full infrastructure including snowmaking systems, water pumping system, drainage system, electrical and
lighting, and transportation to support 24/7 operations for 6 months of the year. Our scope Including equipment
sourcing, specification, sizing and condition of systems and their efficiencies.
(The finished project is featured in Domus magazine special edition d.plus in March 2015).

As Facility Architects, Structural engineering , MEP and Cost Consultant to co-ordinate concept design from New
York ,Ohio and LA designers for a Retail Experience store in Shanghai.
To design for the adequacy of MEP specification, sizing and condition of systems and their efficiencies. Localise the
design and materials from US and ensure the design comply with Shanghai and National Standard in China.
The finished project has received numerous international design awards including International retail design of the year
2009.

Working with Singapore FM ,managed Microsoft client representatives from Redmond US for progressive 'agile'
workplace design strategy and Project management the implementation of a flexible office facility for Microsoft
Singapore of 2,000 sm. Leading a team of 12 staff, effectively co-ordinated business group surveys through to change
management and implementation of new office settings and technologies to manage over 200 staff for Sales and
Marketing, achieving a share ratio of up to 1:1.5, ultimately reducing operational cost for Microsoft CRE whilst
balancing needs of Local Management and end users.
Nokia - 1998
Worked with Project leader to and Nokia RE for creative collaborative workplace design based on a "Town Planning"
concept with central "Piazza, Main Street, Avenues and neighbourhoods", implementation of a highly flexible office
facility for Nokia Networks and Mobile phones Singapore of 35,000 sm. Leading a team of 10 staff, effectively co-
ordinated business group surveys through to change management and implementation of new office settings and
technologies to manage over 400 staff, ultimately reducing operational cost for Nokia RE whilst bringing 2 groups
