2. What we did
During term three we have been taking part in an ‘Arts Rotation’
between the syndicate.
We discussed some of the elements of dance focusing on:
Body awareness: shape, body parts, locomotor movements, non -
locomotor movements, space
Space: levels, connected, distance between
Energy: level of motivation and enthusiasm
Time: fast, slow, average
3. Next we...
The children received a poem call the ‘Mean Machine’
We discussed a criteria based around our previous learning.
They had to make sure that they to have 2 x connected movement per verse, 2 x
different levels per verse, 2 x locomotor movements and 2x non-locomotor movements
Then they created movements and actions that represented the poem.
They worked in pairs and then they combined with another group and taught each other
movements before present it to the class.
