After retiring from a 22-year career as a public school superintendent, Cyndy Simms has been volunteering in her community through Rotary International, where she has been a member since 1987. She served as president of the Rotary Club of Walnut Valley, California from 2010 to 2011. Rotary International began as a social and networking organization for professionals but shifted its focus to community service. It now has over 1.2 million members worldwide working to address issues like polio, illiteracy, child welfare, and more through local and global volunteer efforts.
