1. Four acts of active citizenry
Active citizenry refers to a viewpoint espoused by organizations and educational institutions
which advocates that members of companies or nation states have certain roles and
responsibility to the society and the environment, although those members may not have
certain governing rules. This blog is about my four active citizenry that I have done over the
years how it impacted and benefitted me, the community and the society at large.
Voting at an election
Voting takes place every four years. Last year I turned 18 and was able to vote in the
election last year. We all have the right to vote and with that right you can decide what to
do with that vote. You are able to make a difference for the next four years that will either
benefit your community and society or not. To vote is very beneficial for your own
community and society, because you have the power to make a change in the election. This
will impact your community either way if you have vote or not. One vote can change a lot of
how things are run in the government. That is why I went to vote last year, simply because I
feel one vote just one can be the difference for yourself and community and society.
Volunteering in community organizations
Volunteering is simply doing anything for a good cause without getting paid for it and will be
beneficial for the community and society. I have volunteered at the SPCA in Krugersdorp a
few years back simply because wanted to give back to the community. This volunteering
was very beneficial for me in terms of I could put this on my CV and I was giving back to the
community and the society I gained a lot of responsibility through volunteering. My
volunteering exercise impacted the community and the society, because the SPCA was also
a non-profit organisation it was hard to find workers that was willing to work and look after
the animals and feed them and by volunteering we gave back to the community and the
society by doing one act of citizenry.
2. Donating to an organization that you feel strongly about.
There are a lot of non-profit organizations that does not receive the support and funds that
they need to continue their own acts of citizenry. Every year we throw out clothes and food
and donate it to people and children that is in need by doing this every few months we
benefit the community and the society by donating clothes and food to those in need. We
impact the community and the society by giving the people and children in need some
warmth in the winter and clothes and some food to help them get through the day. By doing
that we inspired a lot of people so more people will be helped in the society and the
community. I have learned that by giving to other people you give them hope for a better
future.
Paying your taxes honestly
Paying your taxes honestly you will impact the community and the society at large. The tax
money are going to provide security, safety, taking away your garbage, giving you lights in
the streets, for yourself, the community and the society that will be very beneficial. The
impact of paying your taxes will have a big impact on your community and the society by
having more security and cleaners streets etc. By paying you can help your community and
society in the long run.
