Duties and Responsibilities: As a Medical Assitant
i. To be kind /helpful to all patient including speaking HINDI
ii. To examine patients in the order of registration but serious patients and fracture cases will be seen
early.
iii. To write short, complete, clear clinical notes on the OPD card with using standard method for
instance c/o, Q, O/E etc.
iv. To investigate and treat patients according to the sorter treatment rules.
v. To refer patients to the Doctor personally why he/she is referring the patient.
vi. To explain the diagnosis and treatment of each patient.
vii. To Continue in service training
viii. To teach new sorters and students eg; CMA, ANM and also helpful to orther sorters when needed
ix. To do triage in Emergency and treatment. This includes
a. Assessing if patient is truly an emergency or may be seen in normal clinic
b. To take history of patient and write on chart. Take and record vital signs and weight
c. Decide if Dr needs to be notified or able to give approved medical treatment and discharge,
or call back following day
d. Outside of cashier hours-collect deposit as set out by cashier department and give receipt
e. Give out medicines from emergency cupboard as necessary and according to procedure
x. Maintain sterile technique for all procedures as necessary and assist in keeping cost down by
economic use of sterile supplies and solutions and proper care of equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities: As a Programme Coordinator
i. To work as required in all field activities for instance; School Health Programme, Government
health post support programme, Maternal and Child Health Clinic, field base satellite programme,
Community based safe motherhood, and new born care, radio magazine, disaster, disability, gender
and environmental programme of the Community Health Department.
ii. To coordinate and supervise the field activities of the staffs of Community Health Department of
United Mission Hospital Tansen, Palpa, Nepal
iii. To provide technical information for students and other personnel who is in clinical placement of
this department.
iv. To liaise with other departments of United Mission Hospital Tansen, District Health Office and
Tansen Municipality and other stakeholder in related activities.
v. To assist the Chief of Community Health to explore the ways to address wider issues affecting the
health of the local community.
vi. To help facilities identified community groups to find solution to their own problem and to
strengths their capacity so that they can address their health needs.
vii. To assist Chief in Planning, Budgeting, Programme Designing and Setting and report writing of the
Community Health Department of United Mission Hospital Tansen.
viii. To utilize all the resources in a proper and efficient manner of the department.
ix. Hour of work is 40 hours in a week as according to the policy of United Mission Hospital Tansen,
