MWH Brunei has been awarded Consultancy Services for Design and Construction for Bukit Barun
Water Treatment Plant Stage 8. The Bukit Barun Stage 8 WTP project is a strategically significant
investment for the Government of Brunei Darussalam. To serve anticipated future demand,
Department of Water Services (DWS) intends to supplement the Bukit Barun Stage 4, 5, and 6
outputs with an independent 120MLD treatment plant (Bukit Barun Stage 8) with its own raw water
intake, raw water pumping main and treated water pump station. The key items include raw water
pumps rising mains, water treatment plant consisting of flocculation unit, rectangular clarifier, gravity
filter, chlorine contact tank, treated water tanks, treated water pump station, chlorination building,
chemical storage and dosing building, waste water tank and clarifier, power substation building,
sludge lagoons and treated water rising mains. As a Project Technical Lead, Jagannath is responsible

Kyogle water supply augmentation, Kyogle Council, 2013 (AP)
This project is to upgrade the Kyogle water treatment plant. The purpose of the upgrade is to allow
the WTP to be able to consistently and reliably provide potable water to Australian Drinking Water
guidelines into the Kyogle reticulation system. The scope currently proposed includes refurbishment
of key process areas within the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the Raw Water Pump Station (RWPS),
and the WTP sludge route to the local Sewage Pumping station (SPS). MWH are providing Kyogle
Council with the necessary design services to ensure a safe, compliant and robust solution is
delivered. As a Pune Project Technical Lead (PTL), Jagannath was responsible for the 30%, 50%
and 100% design submission which include local co-ordination within the multi-discipline design
teams, monitor and track the discipline progress, report to the AP-PTL and Project Manager (PM) on
the budget & schedule. Jagannath was also responsible for the mechanical discipline checker for all
the design deliverables such as reviewing and enhancing the capacity of raw water pumps with
minimum modifications in the existing pumping system, replacing the existing clean water pumps

This project was to provide preliminary design of a new sewage pumping station of capacity 58 mgd
(40278 gpm) and divert all the flows to another Wastewater Treatment Plant. As a Mechanical
designer, Jagannath provided preliminary design of pumping system, design calculations such as wet
well sizing, pumping system, pump selection, operational arrangement and pump station general
arrangement drawing.

This project was to prepare signature designs for various units in water and wastewater treatment
