MSc Aerospace Dynamics with First-class Honours
Option: Aerodynamics
Main subjects include viscous flow, transonic flow, compressible
flow, supercritical aerofoil design, launch & re-entry aerodynamics,
CFD, experimental aerodynamics and air-vehicle modelling and
simulation.
Group project: ‘Group Flight Test Report’. Series of flight tests
in the National Flying Laboratory Centre (NFLC) Jetstream which
have been undertaken, reported and presented as a group
exercise.
Thesis: ‘A study of novel cross-section forebodies at
hypersonic speed’. Investigate which cross-section or forebody
planform configurations are likely to have lowest drag at M=8.2
using the hypersonic gun tunnel. Also check accuracy of CFD
simulations.

Preliminary calculations of the working point of a turbofan and initial

INTERNSHIP

A Matlab code was developed for coupling 2D RANS simulations
with a 3D Vortex-Lattice method. The aim of this code is to predict
aerodynamic coefficients with reasonable accuracy whilst reducing
computational time compared with a 3D CFD simulation. Code is
suitable for low speed aerodynamics.
COMPUTING SKILLS
Software: CATIA (CAD Design), Matlab & Simulink (Mathematical
calculations, modelling and simulation), ANSYS ICEM (Meshing),
ANSYS Fluent (CFD), Microsoft Office, Gasturb (Engines and
turbines design), ESAComp (Structural analysis of composites).
During my studies, I have also used Autocad, Maple and NASTRAN
for some assignments so I have acquired very basic skills with these
too.
Programming: FORTRAN, Matlab, C++.
LANGUAGES
Spanish (native speaker), English (TOEFL Score: 99/120), German
(currently studying, basic level).
EXTRACURRICULAR RESPONSABILITIES
2011 - 2012 Organising a student theatre group of 15-20 members. Also
performed in front of audiences (100-150 spectators approx.)
ACTIVITIES & INTERESTS
Music: I am learning to play the piano and I played in a band with
friends.
Sports: Frontenis, hiking, ultimate, and circuit training.
Travelling abroad and visiting places.
Full driving licence.
