I am a conscientious, self-motivated and reliable individual with a positive outlook and
remain calm under pressure. I am extremely adaptable and quick to pick up new policies
and procedures. I am also proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.
Having worked in various industry sectors, including social care and education, and work
experience, during which I acquired many transferable/life skills, I recognised my desire to
become a quantity surveyor and work within the quantity surveying / construction sector.
Outside study/employment I enjoy taking care of my cat, walking, meeting people, reading,
drawing local sites, local history, camping, playing pool and roleplaying games.
I have received my Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying 2:2 from Herriot Watt University
in June 2014, and am actively seeking any opportunities to gain hands on experience
within this field and would consider undertaking paid or voluntary work.
I am available for interview and/or to begin employment at short notice and am flexible on
remuneration, as well as hours worked and duties undertaken.
Voluntary Work
In the past, I have been Chairperson to the Disability Advisory Group, Campus Convenor
for the Student Association, Student Officer for the SA (all at Adam Smith College,
Kirkcaldy), Assistant Set Designer/maker for Kirkcaldy Amateur Dramatic Society, assisted
the Marketing Dept. for Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, volunteered within the Scout
movement, various church café / coffee bars, youth work, Big Tent Festival. I have been a
Committee Member of the Rabbits Brae Development Group, Kirkcaldy. Within the Gilbert
& Sullivan Society, Kirkcaldy I have been a Committee Member and also a stage hand. I
also gave my time to St Brycedale Kirk, Kirkcaldy helping serve in their café / coffee bar.
