Key Achievements:
• In this job I act as an assistant. The business provides specialist clay
workshops for Pre-K, Infants, Primary and High Schools. There are different
components; creating, painting and installing the artwork. I have been most
instrumental in the installation and direction of murals in schools. I have also assisted in
the setting up of the business’ Facebook account as well as their website.
Key Skills Gained:
• Teaching - I have been part of the teaching aspect and enjoyed it. I am in
the classroom as a helper, guiding the children with their individual pieces
of art. I enjoy working with kids a lot.
• Team work - the business is small, it is run by two women. I get a long with
the women well. It is important when working creative people to let each
person have their say. This job has taught me the importance of listening
to someone else in charge.

I am in charge of sending out exceptional food accompanied with outstanding customer service.

Working in the kitchen as an assistant chef
was a huge step from working in the cafe. I was given the role of preparing
the food and also putting together the dishes.

Knife Skills - I became more confident with my knife skills, whilst learning

Key Achievements:
• I was given freedom in this job. I was not only a waitress, I had a huge
impact on the creative and technological side of the business. I was given
the task of writing and designing the menu. I managed the cafe’s Facebook
account. My artistic eye was relied on for the decor of the cafe as well as
the writing of the chalkboards. I have a passion for cooking and spent a lot
of time in the kitchen preparing food and cooking. I was also in charge of
making the cold drinks such as smoothies and freshly squeezed juices.
Key Skills Gained:
Team work - team work was a huge element of this job as everyone had to
work under pressure together. I have learnt to maintain a calm and organised
environment in order to deal with the pressure of a fast paced business.

Key Achievements:
• This job was part of my year 10 work experience. I spent the week styling
food for a breakfast commercial, and spent time chopping, arranging and
helping to design the food layout.
